The Sony has a full raster pixel count on their EX1,Ex3 and Z1s etc.Meaning 2.2 million,which is full HD resolution.Panasonic's HVX200,HPX500 has only 1.1 million so the images are upressed.Like 300 D.P.I picure being upressed to 600

It's still only 300 DPI in quality.But the Sony cams record to a highly comprssed format 22 to 1 in HDV e.g.Both HDV and EX1&3 record long GOP which processes groups of frames together.The Pany cams do it to every sinle frame

Sony make good sensors but bad recording codec's.Panasonic make good recording's with P2 tech,but make bad sensors.If you could take the 2 best things you'd have quite an animal and killer camera
