I had a few remixes in the pipeline, I have a few originals that might contribute to the DDR style of things (nothing that I've released over YouTube yet though). I've had some useless remixes too like LOVE <3 SHINE SURVIVOR MAX, but that's another story.

Just after the "stop" in the song (shortly after 2 minutes) I recognize the tune as part of The Legend of MAX.

This is a good extended mix, I like it.

No, Legend of MAX is it's own song. None of the music in Legend can be heard in any other Max song. It does have the jump freeze stop that is common in the first 3 Max songs in the 2nd half, though.

There are some similarities between Max 300 and MaxX Unlimited in the sound, but they are all easily distinguishable once you become more familiar with them.

I always felt the intro melody to LoM is similar to the intro clashing noises of MaxX Unlimited.

Find the original DDR mixes of each and compare the first 13 seconds of LoM to the first 14 seconds of MaxX Unlimited back and forth.

jvdthwip: You're right, now that you mention it. There are some similarities there...only similar, though, not a direct cut.

LoM trivia: LoM came to be after Bemani decided that its predecessor, Max to the XXXimum, was too difficult. Made some changes to the music and made the stepchart more manageable.

Of course, seeing some charts now...would be interesting to see what they scrapped.

They are similar in some ways... just as has been mentioned the orch hit melody at the beginning is similar.

The same orch hits are used at the end too, in a similar fashion to the end of MAX 300/MAXX unlimited... and then there is also the freeze in the middle.

The kick/snare/kick/snare beat is also similar to MAX 300's main beat only its at 333 BPM instead :P
