You can also hear Roy Lee on the Dr. Feelgood and the Interns LP (Piano Red's Band) I used to see them play at Ga Tech frat houses when we took our breaks in the Night Shadows playing adjoining frats. They also had a weekly gig downstairs at the Hideaway located at Peachtree & 10th in Atlanta, GA from 1961 -1963.
I discovered this artist at some flea market in Paris. It was playing at a vintage albums stand. I asked the guy "what's this music?" He shows me this one cover, written Roy Lee Johnson. "That's awesome I said, how much? " I look at the cover, it says 150€ on it. I think it's a mistake, so I go "15 euros?" And he laughs at me: "yeah sure, 15euros... at christmas!"
Could never find that album anywhere on the internet...
Does anybody have any of "Roy Lee Johnson and the Villagers"? Songs like "Dryer" "Midnight at Riley's" "The Robot" "Goodtime Charlie"! The Bass player was my older brother(Michael James) and the album I had got broken.
Is it me or can I here the 'Rolling Stones - Satisfaction' in there?

John Lennon was influenced by this man who wrote Mr Moonlight. Was this song written before Day Tripper, just curious.

Anybody have a copy of "Black Pepper Will Make You Sneeze" or the flip "Too Many Tears" from around 1962?
