Of COURSE Dante is cooler because he's the protagonist of the series AND he's had years to practice with his powers and, as a result, he got that cocky attitude from being able to beat just about anything. Nero is sorta cocky since he can also beat a lot of things but thing is: He's a teenager and he's had almost NO practice with his powers since he didn't even start using them until the beginning of DMC4 and since he's not a master yet, he needs to focus a bit more so he's a little less cocky

Also, the reason why Yamato reacts differently with Nero is simply because Devil Bringger can absorb demonic magic. Example: Evil Legacy, Sephiroth Seed, etc. And the reason his Devil awoke was because Yamato is a powerful Devil Arm wielded with Sparda's power. So when it absorbed into the Arm, his demonic nature fully awoke. That's why it makes most sense to me that he's Dante's younger brother.

But, I'll be nice. Vergil was enslaved by Mundus between 3 & 1. In 1, Dante kills him without realizing it was him. However, if he actually 'killed' him is up for debate, but Mundus himself says "Vergil has been defeated". Which based on the track history of what 'defeat' equals...
