the guitarist has an authentic jimmy page sound--but it hit me this morning, this singer sounds more like the guy in quiet riot. damned good recording though, what was this recorded with?

@ab9957 The audio is a combination of sound from the stereo mic on a Sony HDRFX1 and a stereo mix straight out of the board recorded to a Zoom H2 @ 320kbps mp3. Mixed together it give a pretty accurate representation of how the band really sounds live.

I've had the good fortune to have seen Zoso twice over the past six months and both times I was blown away. IMO they have best stage presence of any of the LZ tributes I've seen so far. I love the way John McDaniel keeps his hair over his eyes, similar to how page appears in some of '75 tour footage. It increases the mystery of Page, who is wizard with the guitar and was a dabbler in the occult in those days. John can also lean farther backward than any other Page impersonator I've seen.

To the criticism from the "experts". My band opened for these guys in Bloomington IN, at the Bluebird in 2010. John McDaniel is sponsored by Gibson, and could play anything from a rack of 15 Pauls. No, it would make better sense to use a $125K real 1959, which you couldn't tell any difference. The sound guys do their best, often through house sound systems & with the wattage they play? watch the camera shake! We measured 116 DBL with hand meters. I saw Zep live drunk & sound sucked! ZOSO ROCKS

J cannot stand the singers voice. Sounds nothin like plant. I couldn't really hear the bass or the bass drum so I won't judge the drummer or te bassist, althought isn't there supposed to be a drum solo??? And the guitarist isn't even playing the song right. He adds a metal type of guitar to the song and it sounds cool, but it's no like led zeppelin

Couldnt be anything  like that isnt a 1958 Les Paul Standard the guy is playing like since its live its missing the backwards reverb and the guitar doubling to name just a few of the tricks Page used when the song was recorded. Or Page could play the tracks a hundred times if needed to get them perfect.

@ropat66 I believe that Plants vocals were recorded in one take. As for the recording and mixing of the rest of the song that was not a one take effort as I understand it.

@curt0803 It misses the point anyway, because the question is not "does it sound like the record?" but rather "does it sounds like Zeppelin live?". The answer, IMO, is essentially it does. Of course no tribute band IS the band. It's an approximation. In this case, a good one.

@tremooloo The point of seeing a Zoso show (or any good live show for that matter) is not about hearing the record duplicated. Zoso tries to replicate a Zeppelin live show, and Zeppelin live is famous for changing stuff up.
