KTTW TV from Sioux Falls SD is still cheesey as well. Their overall presentation is flawed, with many technical problems (most of them minor) appearing every day during programming.
This music is from The Electro Phantasma soundtrack... a few stations used this as a news theme in the early 80's, most notably KENS-TV in San Antonio.
You'll be glad to know WDAZ moved to a larger studio in the mid-1990s. However, their programming is still cheap, and they only went stereo in 2005. See the newscasts at wdaz(dot)com and see what I mean.
That makes me laugh! Most stations in Toledo went stereo by '86. Of course Toledo's market ranking is a bit larger than Grand Forks/Devils Lake, though one of our UHF stations has resided in a pretty cheesy building for the past few decades itself.
I at least hope that they took the NBC "N" off of the facade.

The studios looks more like a typical fast-food building to me!
