I love the little bits of info they use to show on screen during the vid..They were usualy always wrong in the things they said...Like during lazy itis they said The Happy Mondays next release will be called W S L...lol..Great chart though...Was the highlight to my Saturday mornings.
The chart show was responsible for turning me onto indie music.
I tuned in for the pop originally and then used to look forward to the indie and dance charts more and more each week. The rock chart was turgid at the time though.
Id almost forgotten this, I probably still have old videos hidden somewhere with these programmes recorded :-) What a contrast though the Neph next to Happy Mondays.....
Excellent non-album version of Lazyitis. Note the lyrics "I pinned him down and took his badge off" rather than the album version where he "...blew his face off". Also seem to remember The Beatles taking exception to the alleged use of a chord or two from Ticket to ride.
Thanks for all these Chart Show videos. It shows how the chart changed from independent label singles chart to the independent labels that have artists with guitar-based music chart & Erasure.
Thanks for all these superb clips - the good old days eh! I also used to watch the CT religiously and recorded most of these as well (specially in 1990). Back in the days when quite a few bands didn't have videos!

Yeah it was a bit confusing - I think they got their name (& 1st album's name) from an old Frank Sinatra film - Meet Danny Wilson.

This was in the days when the indie chart was still good before britpop took over. The Stone Roses were the best Madchester band in my opinion.

Wow-w-wow-w-wow!! The unlikely pairing of Happy Mondays and the late great Karl Denver on such a great song. Almost brings a tear to the eye.

Remember thiws chart really clearly for some reason. Probably because I couldn't understand what was being growled by Dinosaur Jr.
