  • I love Nolan, his works are very entertaining and reasonably cerebral. So far, I don't think he's made a bad film but at the same time I'm not sure if he's done anything truly Best Director worthy...well Inception maybe (certainly a best picture though). The Coens deserved their No Country win. That was brilliant, despite a small bunch of bad films they have had, the Coens are amazing.

Also, Black Swan wasn't even that good. Visually stunning though, really artistically powerful.

  • I never get tired of these

  • Well, Christopher Nolan is a great director - as well as The Coen Brothers, Darren Aronofsky, David Fincher, etc. Why should we argue about who's the best when it's better to enjoy the movies they make? Anyway, that's my opinion.

  • This has to be one of the greatest thing I've ever seen, omg

  • Agree COMPLETLEY! How many masterpieces does Nolan need to make before Academy realises they owe him Oscars for pretty much all of them?

  • @xBellatrixLestrangex ok i liked inception when i first saw it, but EVERY MUTHER FUCKING nolan fanboi, calling inception the masterpeice of all time and shit TURNED ME AWAY FROM it, infact i hate it, cause hype killed the movie for me. SERVES ANYONE who likes nolan right. dont be calling movies the greatest ever and then when someone doens't share your opinion, calling them too dum to understand the plot is not that fuking smart.

  • @malows1234 Did I say that people who don't share my opinion and don't like Inception are dumb? I don't remember that...please quote me if I did.

That's the thing with you haters- if someone praises the movie, you automatically assume that we are "fanbois" or "pseudo-intellectuals" who are going to jump down your throats if you say anything against Nolan. Yes, I liked it and yes, I thought it was a masterpiece. You don't think so- fine. Just stop the shallow minded stereotyping!

  • @xBellatrixLestrangex

    What I don't understand is:

    a) How come Nolan couldn't even get a nomination?

    b) Damn, Leo has been snubbed from a long time. Why? Coz, he doesn't kiss their feet?

    c) That was shameful. How come Aaron Sorkhin didn't 'Thank' Mark Zuckerberg in his Oscar speech? I really find that lame even though he said that "Mark is a good sport!" in post event press meet. It was like - "Mark, we have used your story & made you a villain and won Oscars without Thanking you!

  • @xBellatrixLestrangex At least one.

  • Totally agree! It's a shame that nolan again wasn't nominated.

Love this Hitler video! Although it's really hard to concentrate on the subtitles if you understand german.

  • OMG someone put into words how i feel about Nolan notting getting nominated !!!!

  • The oscars love the Cohen brothers too much, they hate martin scorsese and chris nolan because they are jealous of their pure genuises.

since the departed came out, they couldn't ditch martin or either people would've hate them forever.

  • I almost literally died laughing, my chair fell backwards and I hit my head.

    That was brilliant.

  • haha

    he's right about the Coens.

  • @halashehri the coens are awesome GO FUCK YOURSELF LOL. nolan is not good enough to eat the shit of Coen brothers.

  • @malows1234 The Coens are great but an Oscar nomination for True Grit!! seriously?Scorsese, Danny Boyle and definitely Nolan did a better job. Nolan has been crowned as a masterpiece maker by the international audience since Memento. you and the Academy are too ****** up to see it.

  • @halashehri bro listen, i wont deny the genius behind memento and possibly even prestige. but he has got to stop with the blockbuster crap. go back to smaller movies where he was way more of a genius. INception, well if you look past the symbolism and the flashy cinematography and visuals, its a pretty basic hiest movie. really he fell to ground after memento. oh wel l he is making a howard hughes biopic, i hope he win for that. but ya.... sorry bud character i dont care about=inception.

  • @malows1234 Why on earth would anyone want to "look past the symbolism" when he or she is watching a movie? In that case, why even watch it? Keep your money and leave. If you have fallen so far that you cannot appreciate the beauty of symbolism, conventional or otherwise... I have nothing more to say.

  • @flareblitz2010 what i meant by that was that, all it has going for it. i mean noone gave a shit about the characters. like i would hate to bring this up, but i felt sadder when optimist prime died in transformers 2 rather than when mal died in inception. AND MIGHT I REMIND YOU that transformers 2 was one of the shitiest films ever made. sorry to say buddy but chris nolan has no chance of being a character driven emotiional director.

  • @malows1234 ... That'd be the biggest unqualified generalisation I've seen in a while. Your opinion, unfortunately, does not seem to mirror that of the majority. I can vouch that every single person I've met who has watched Inception had been affected, in one way or another, by Mal's death -- and the significance behind that very act, which is so central to the plot -- and by the OTHER characters: the supporting cast.

TL; DR: Unqualified generalisations do not a credible argument make.

  • @flareblitz2010 pllllllesse, "affected", lets not use that word for summer blockbusters, everyone was so affected indiana jones, ET, and thought they were the greatest and finest masterpieces ever made, and few people went to see scorsese movies....... fast forward 20 years....... geuss who is considered a better director(scorsese), geuss what films are considered more qualified masterpeices(Raging bull). nolan is on the same path as spielberg which is not bad at all, but just saying.....

  • @flareblitz2010 i mean raiders of the lost ark is still considered a good movie, but many will argue that it isn't quite what it was 30 years ago. nolan is on the same spielberg path, make blockbusters=entertain(people think they are masterpeices now). but sure enough people will see that it isn't a true masterpeice. and i should even state nolan is not even getting half the attention of spielberg, back in the 80's it was speilberg mania.... and now people think his movies are good not legends.

  • it's ok i liked the social network too!!!!!!

  • No joke, this is the greatest use of the Hitler video I've ever seen. I haven't laughed that hard in months! Favorited, my friend.
