  • Hey to awnser your question about that. If there is a milky substance then that is not a chickweed. also check to see if there is a single line of hairs running up stem and when you reach the leaf then it will alternate to the other side of the stem. and also know that the older leaves has there own stems. The flowers are actually 5 petals in pairs of 2 petals.

    I have what looks like Chickweed in my garden. When you pick some you get a white, milky substance coming from the picked stem. Is that chickweed?

  • thanks would love to know more about foraging, As a chef its somrthing that i Feel a natural passion for but the resarch is fairly scarce so I thank you for the pointer here and will try to incorporate Chickweed in some dishes ,I'll let you know how i get on!!
