  • is the time 3/4 or 4/4? i need this for a school project to make sure i don't dance with the worst guy in my class. i REALLY need this to protect my reputation.

  • @TeamKatniss4Ever 3/4 time most likely :) as it is a waltz

  • @TeamKatniss4Ever If you don't know the difference between a waltz in 3/4 and Rock around the Clock in 4/4, your reputation is the least you have to worry about.

  • where is the whole video?

  • They perform the most perfect and breathtaking tour jetes!

  • Beautiful.

    Such an inspiration.

  • I wonder if Tchaikovsky could have envisioned that 100 years after he composed this beautiful ballet, hundreds of productions of it would still be dancing to his immortal music every holiday season all over the world (and esp. in the USA). I think he would be dumbfounded but very pleased at its overwhelming success. Thank you Mr. T for this musical beauty, for making people forget their troubles for a few hours, and for keeping many a ballet company floating.

  • so very very pink

  • i would do just about anything to go back to age 4 so i could start dance lessons. sigh :(

  • PINK! (: beautiful dance and costumes!

  • It looks like my studio's waltz! The costumes and everything!

  • I hate it when people racially slander black people on videos such as these. Why? They think since we are all 'inferior' to any light skinned race and lower IQ than any other, we won't watch classical ballet. Racism is getting old and you know it so please either shut up about black people looking funny in Waltz of the Flowers or relating dances. Some of us live up to your standards of blacks but most don't because it'll just give you more to laugh at. >.<

  • Hello ballet lovers! I would greatly appreciate it if you would subscribe to TheCaliforniaBallet and followed them on twitter @CAballetCo Thank you so much!

  • i wish to be a ballerina and im only 7

  • watch closely and u'll see that they are in perfect sync! down to how high they kick their legs! beautiful!

  • its magic ...isnt it???

  • The music is magical, and the ballet simply dreamy. Makes me feel like I'm floating on a bubble.

  • @xtoork Thats maybe because you played Parodius on the snes when you were a kid :D.

  • Beautiful <3

    Btw.. @LilsweetHeaven16

You enjoy as many an eccletic array of different musical genres as you like.

Bit of advice though....Engage brain b4 opening mouth.

I've learnt this the hard way!

Just saying what I think, before thinking, has got me into trouble in the past!

    Stay cool <3 xxx

  • The choreography is great, it exploded fantastically the whole ensemble.

  • The choreography is great, it exploded fantastically the whole ensemble.

  • @LilSweetHeaven16 If it's just "wat" you're thinking then maybe YOU'RE not norma, hon. But whatever.

  • @LilSweetHeaven16 This is normal attire for ballet dancers, and has been for the last few hundred years. Perhaps those who think it is a little weird and not normal should put down their video games and pull their pants above their asses and get a little culture beyond listening to rap or Justin Bieber.

  • @LilSweetHeaven16 Oh Lordy ...... I hope you didn't post that with your pants below your ass.

  • What is this music called?? Ive always wanted to know.

  • @Beanies91 Waltz of the flowers ........

  • @MyGhettoCruiser LOL! oh I thought that was the name of the chapter, not the music hehe

  • is it wrong for me to think that balanchines nutcracker is better than kirov's? they are both fantastic in thier own right

  • Wunderbar!

  • Fine ballet dance. Thanks for uploading this

  • este es el bals que le quiero poner a mi nena cuando cumpla sus 15.

  • obsessed with this choreography

  • Well if you are a negro, thats what I'm saying. How on Earth is that racist?

  • To be more accurate: You'd be odd in the Nutcracker, as a dancing flower

  • no offense, just a fact

  • @Hungrunge uhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh sunflower dickhead

  • negro flowers dont exist

  • @Hungrunge don't you think that's a bit too racist??

  • @Hungrunge wats thats supposed to mean u sayin that i cant be a flower or whatever if not what u tryna say

  • this is so beautiful !!!!

  • @MsLudilo would it be as beautiful with an all negro cast?

  • @NASIMNASIM :o

  • @macroevolve LOL

  • I will never forget my first join to ballet performance in pink /green tutu, danced to this. I was eight.

yeah I remember how it was twinkling on stage, though it's 12 years ago, still love this music.

    Merry Christmas !!

  • i remember dancing to this song when i was in 3rd grade. only having several weeks of practice (from the library teacher person. lol) we only had simple movements. i never noticed how much of a spotlight i was on. the brightest lights shining on me, standing front-center stage. dear me i didnt even notice that the person who had built the school herself, many years before i was there, was watching. she even asked my teacher if i did ballet lessons. oh my, best night of my life~:) ~i <3 ballet~

  • extreme pinkness

  • oh crap what a nice background. where did you find all of those guys. we only have 5!

  • @itzsikdancer97 they're a company

  • STILL PINK!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • ahhh that was soo prettyyy(:

  • Talk about great lifts form the guys! Really nice hieght.

  • what is the name of that song?

  • @TheNefenoufaro it's the Waltz of the Flowers.... from the nutcracker.

  • @TheNefenoufaro can you not read ? It's Waltz of the Flowers.

  • PRIMO!!

  • This is so pink.., why is it a pas de deux dance?! You can't see anyone except the front pair.

  • so... pink o_O

  • @phantomfangurl flowers read the title

  • How beautiful! They really resemble flowers as they dance.

  • nice backdrop

  • this is a heavenly production

  • Love it :) !

  • um where did they get so many guys?!

  • Tchaikowski is one of my best classic music composers.

  • love the choreography and the costumes

    the scenography it's amazing!

  • 素晴らしい!他に云う事なし。

  • So beautiful!!

  • hermosa musica

  • I was shocked by how disjointed and out of sync the dancers were. I'm not an expert on ballet by any stretch, but I know good dance when I see it and this is putrid! If you don't think so, compare this performance to that of the Bolshoi's WOTF also here on the tube. The difference is literally night and day!

  • @hesp666 in terms of choreography i prefer this one

  • too many mistakes by the lead dancers and quite a few missteps noted.....as a ballet dancer myself i dont think russians reaaly know enogh about this art form......i did a ballet dance last night when i cam into the house very late.....i did a double spin and a flake jump to avoid the wife seeing me go to the bathyroom.....thanks

  • @abonawas Sure . Then who is the best in this art may be you should show the world.

  • @ladysamuray eat your heart out buddy.....i only dance for money

  • @abonawas "i dont think russians reaaly know enogh about this art form" excuse me?

  • @Prancer1231 they just commies....drink too much vodka to be able to stand up on two feet let alone stand up and dance on two toes...facts are facts....so get your facts staright first.

  • @Prancer1231 I agree isn't the one who directed this dance in the first place RUSSIAN???

  • @abonawas

Russians don't know much about ballet? That is an indefensible statement

  • the only thing i dislike about ballet are the ugly suits guys get to wear...

  • Comment removed

  • @danggpriya1 well they do complement ur package. Be proud

  • ¡¡¡PRECIOSO!!!

    Va a mis favoritos

    Saludos

  • very good choreography! The dance match up with music perfectly!

  • A mis favoritos.

    Gracias

  • Genious Vainonen! Vassily Vainonen is the choreograher! 1934. They say that possibly some of the dances were reminiscent from the earlier legendary version by Lev Ivanov (the choreographer of the world-famous swan scenes of the Swan Lake). That version was completely lost during 1917-1924. Also because Fiodor Lopukhov (Balanchine had his ideas from him) made his own version in 1924(if I am correct), because of which the Theatre lost the previous one.

  • Those men must have really strong arms and legs! And those girls must have incredibly strong feet! It's strange when you watch it and it looks so beautiful, but you know their feet don't! :c)

  • @burtv1610 well really, almost all forms of performing fine art are like that.

do you hear the harp cadenza? someone spent years at the harp learning how to play the harp, and then spent many hours learning the cadenza. it requires a ton of finger muscle to do it.

of course i would not presume to say that it is easier than ballet, since dance is a lot more physical tiring. but the training time used in developing the specialised muscles is probably the same.

  • @burtv1610 sometimes when i see people say that classical music is boring, i wonder if they have really listened carefully to all the blood, sweat and tears put in by the performers, or are they just looking for a rhythm.

almost none of the pop stars nowadays spend hours honing their craft each day (with notable exceptions, i have heard amazing solos on the bass guitar before)

but my point it is that, it is really the music that was composed and practised over years, that lasts centuries

  • @burtv1610 for those who say that classical music is "all the same"... i find that laughable because we study music theory in school, and really, an entire boatload of pop songs follow the SAME harmonic progressions.

no offence to my own culture, but chinese pop songs tend to do that a lot. if you know how to play one of them, chances are it's easy for you to play the others. now could you really say the same for classical music?

not to mention that the dynamic range of pop is really small

  • @burtv1610 what do you mean their feet dont? Our feet do have to be very strong...along with our will

  • @CvilleDancer

I'm sorry I didn't word it very well! My point is that their feet have to be very strong and I have seen my friends (who do ballet) come behind stage crying because their feet hurt so much, yet they have to go on! It's amazing how a person can have so much will when underneath their beautiful dances and elegance their feet are in so much pain!

Anyway, as I was saying, I love ballet it's so beeeeautiful! :D

  • @burtv1610 yes, I agree. I am en pointe and it hurts incredibly bad. Sometimes it feels like my feet were ripped off and thrown into a furnace! But yes, in the end, to me, it is all worth the pain for the beauty. "No Pain, No Gain"

  • ballet is such an amazing thing! and the music too!!!

  • beautiful performance and breath-taking scenery i have to say

  • thank you for sharing - it is beautiful!

  • Amazing. Tears to my eyes.

  • I love the background painting,, so spooky yet so beautiful..and of course the amazing Ballerinas :)

  • @GabrielloBellucci And the guys are kind of hot! :)

  • wow....the best waltz of the flowers performance i ever see so far.

  • Mariinsky. <3 The Sylphides video was removed, it's unfair. Nothing seems to compare to this, the decor, the elegance, the excellent dancers. The sheer quality of it all.

  • Que lindo, maravilhoso

  • this is amazing...its so beautiful...my favorite production of waltz of the flowers by far...everythign from the musicality to the stage and costumes is wonderful...100 stars!!!

  • I'm with you--this is spectacular!

  • So beautifull... Dance, music...All amazing...

  • Моя сфьоя любимая новогодняя сказка

  • LOL you can tell by the male dancer's hair that this totally took place during the 80s or late 90s. But wonderful dancing!

  • can you get more professional?!! geez!!

  • Where I dance they do a different waltz of the flowers. It's amazing- they have tulip dancers and roses and little baby flowers pots! The costumes in my shows are all different shades of pink yellow blue and purple. It is incredible! I'm getting that part in 2 or 3 years

  • HERMOOOOOOSSOOOO!!! <3

  • im dancin this role this winter in the nutcracker

  • OMG. they look like they're literally FLYYYYYING when the ballerinas go up in the air! EEK! it gives me the chills!

  • yeah i used to do ballet i had to do this piece of nutcracker... its terrifying when you first go up but then you feel so free and elegant and the males are soo gentle you do feel like you are flying its a lovely experience =)

  • LOVE IT!!!

  • I liked this production, but the Royal ballet version is my favourite with Alina Cojocaru and Ivan Putrov. I remember, I first saw this ballet when I was only 8, and I still find it so enchanting even more so. This piece is nontheless charming and very nicely choreographed.

  • i luv the royal ballet version!!!

    itz amazing!!!!!

    itz 1 of my favorites...

  • I am looking for the Royal ballet version but i can't find it in youtube. Anyone would post it. Thanks from Barcelona. I used to go to Gran Teatre del Liceo when I was young to see Margot Fonteyn each season she came with the Royal Ballet.
