Clean coal technology produces at least five times more coal ash by volume than standard coal plants do. Congress & Obama, stop killing the people in Appalachia with coal waste and heavy metals. Stop allowing the toxins in coal ash to create a Chernobyl in America. Clean Coal is a killer and carbon capture is just a give away to the coal industry and the politician who profit by it. They are holding on for dear life but we aren't going to let you get away with politics as usual anymore.

The same old Washington ways are no longer going to be tolerated. There are so many flaws and concessions in the Markey Waxman bill that it is not only unacceptable, it borders on criminal. This bill is being followed closely. The majority of your constituents are no longer going to tolerate compromised bills, driven by big coal and other self serving interests. Redo this bill!!!

We the public are sick and tired of compromises with the coal, oil and nucler industries. Our children's environment is no longer subject to compromise. We want our tax dollars invested in solar and wind energy, not carbon sequestration. Only a strong EPA, stiff federal renewable electricity standards and stiff efficiency standards will result in the green jobs we need instead of lining the pockets of the polluters. Only you can make us proud -- or not.

last I checked carbon sequestration has yet to be successfully implemented into one commercial scale coal fired power plant in the US. The technology is not there, and even if it was shouldn't we be spending money on technologies that have already proven themselves to be clean?

Why don't they spend billions on an offshore windfarm or increased tax rebates for solar? These are proven and provide lasting solutions. Carbon capturing is a waste of taxpayer money and is equal to brushing dirt under a rug.

Organizations like The Clean MUST launch a public awareness campaign equal to or greater than the massive clean coal campaign. They must appeal to the public with facts and begin a debate in the daylight... CCS is dominating the public marketing campaign with their TV and radio ads.

Clean coal doesn't exist. This bill will give billions to the coal companies. Not only that but utilities and other polluters can get 100% auctions with the ability to pass any incremental costs in electricity to ratepayers. They pollute, citizens pay.
