I would be super thankful if any would could help but anyways i just recently purchased shogan 2 and i installed it and everything but once the game was starting up the screen was black and i couldn't see anything but i could still hear all the other opening stuff i haven't figured out how to fix this yet so could anyone help?

The cav bug is where you charge with the side of the wedge with about 3 secs till impact, thumbs up so everyone can use it, if everyone has the bug then it's no longer an advantage

Skirmishing doesn't mean archers standing in front of eachother shooting until someone wins. Skirmishing means using range troops, or light infantry or cavalry on the enemy flanks, doing attack and retreat moves.

I've noticed in Shogun II the attitude is that ppl have much more contempt for melee rush armies calling them melee spam, and love missile heavy ones. Seemed opposite in RTW.

Idk why but my sort of play is a melee heavy army that doesn't rush. I take meat shield skirmishers and basically surround, use terrain and overwhelm them. But it doesn't mean the games over in 5 minutes lol. Only thing that really gets to my army is a lot of cav that's well veted but then i just slaughter everyone and win with my spears XD.

@Commentor1010 I do the same thing. :-) I have some super vetted yari samurai that I use to take on cav spam i lose all my katanas every time but my yari are so highly vetted i only need 2 in order to take out an entire cav spam. usually i don't even bring bow meat sheilds though, I often bring naginata samurai and just plant them in a spot that is irresistible. Then I surround and making sure to avoid his skirmishers as they redirect fire then move in for the kill.

As long as you move forward to the middle of the map and make aggressive movements then I don't consider it camping. For example if your quick off the Mark and are able to seize high ground in the middle of the map why should you have to forfeit it? Your opponent had the same chances to grab it or to stop you grabbing it. Also the cav glitch has nothing to do with formation.

@tedindahouse Its a multiplayer/custom battle only unit that is basically sword ashugaru. Its basically the sword counterpart of yari ahsugaru and most people thinks its over powered for it gains a better stat increase from upgrades. It can have decent stats just below a katana samurai but most noticeably is their low moral and tendency to chain route.

Take care skirmishing too much for you attract the sort of crowd whom feel the only way to play is that of direct aggression. Any time I post a 30m "shoot you to death" type of video, or someone else commentates it, the video attracts a breed of players who can't think beyond the scope of "rush forward and kill" tactics, and they resort to insulting me on the grounds of camping or avoiding conflict. There is absolutely nothing wrong with pausing to propose hidden strikes or to regroup tactics.

Trust me Kitty ... the feeling you get when facing a skirmishing/too defensive player even with a strong skirmishing army makes people want to kill cute,small puppies by suffocating them ... of course it is strategic and requires skill and patience ... but when a battle continues on and on for more than 45 minutes because a player wants to use every arrow he has just to kill some melee units pisses me off ... even though i would do the same thing if i were a skirmishing player :/

@Vizeroh That happens to me a lot. I don't quite understand, I once beat 3 9 chevron bow monks and I only had like 2 7 or 6 bow monks... Odd that people think that numbers is everything. I mean, he had a leadership general also, so he could have easily went into stand and fight and inspired a unit also, and probably could have won, but instead, he lost.
