Since the video is a photo album of U.S. issued propaganda, it makes no sense when played along with the music. Does the author understand the message in Steel Pulse's song, or is just another fun reggae song to smoke weed to? The video would make sense if - for example - we had photos of a village before and after the U.S. soldiers visited.
Without a doubt, the best way you can serve your (over-militarized) country in the 21st century is to stay out of the military.
Music written a long time ago, relevant then, just as relevant today! Now that's music, that's art! This world needs more artists today like Steel pulse, keeping it real, unlike the shallow pop culture of music today!
wow - a picture speaks a thousand words - a picture with music, a million - a picture with music and lyrics speaks a billion - this is multi billion. well done -
I love Steel Pulse and also want to serve my country. Call me a Babylon pawn, tell me it's ironic, it won't change a thing. Every day I wish for a world where borders, wars, boundaries, and militaries are not needed. But unfortunately, this is not the world I have inherited.
The song describes the invasion of Southern Africa by British Forces and the destruction of the Native Zulu culture by force of arms. Wonderful pictures, completely OUT OF CONTEXT! I'm an Army vet, ex-Combat Engineer, even I know that this is the wrong song for these pictures. Goodness gracious!
More US blood has been spilled to help and save Muslims, and not once have the US planted the flag on mid-east soil. The actions have been noble, and with good intent..... not to rob and steal.
I fully agree with you. There is too much about this that we don't see through the news and other media. The personal impact of this war NEEDS to be seen. Thanks for asking!
U.S. troops are child killers, low life trash, unprofessional morons and sadistic rapist pigs that have disgraced America and tarnished America's name and reputation. The new Democrat president will bring respect back to America, but the whole world hates America. Americans don't even like each other...they are evil and America is nothing but a big police state and Americans are losing their freedoms and constitutional rights. Americans are also misguided morons.
U.S troops are the reason you're not speaking German right now. When have you made the ultimate sacrifice for others, putting everything on the line? most don't care or get it. They just assume it is somebody else's problem, or someone else's son can bail your ass out of a tight situation. Good luck in your utopia.
I made this video in a situation when something in my point of view and my thinking started changing. I had always been Anti-War, and -yes, thats been my thinking- US troops had always been the bad guys in my eyes.
The interesting thing was that this my point of view started changing when i came over the US Army´s photo galleries on the internet.
First i thought: ok, propaganda ! But then i started thinking. And did two videos.

how can you misinterpretate a message as clear as this one? "Things used to be ire (before the soldiers came)"

Let me see if I understand this:

Attempting to force democracy on a people who can't understand it and did not ask for it IS robbing a people of its culture.
The soldiers are brave and noble for the most part but the government which send them overseas to shed their blood are corrupt.

hey, Moosie,
thank you very much for posting "Tools of War" as a response.
Think its very good and important to connect what bases on the same message.
Just have a look on "Things have changed", the video i reponded this to.
Its also a great video on the theme

thanks for the comment, and thanks that you accepted it as a video response to "Things have changed".
Yes, tere are messages that have to be told.
It took me a long time to come so far that i look at it from this point of view no.
I must cofess that there had been times, when i maybe had written a comment in the way, gregb1026 did.
And just actually i am again learning, as i came across Iraq veterans. And i thank God he allows me to learn.
Leaders should do so, too !
