Through its history Riggs Bank served many notable personalities. Twenty-two U.S. Presidents or their families banked at Riggs, including John Tyler, Abraham Lincoln, Ulysses S. Grant, and Dwight D. Eisenhower. Accounts were also held by Senators Henry Clay, John C. Calhoun, and Daniel Webster, Confederate president Jefferson Davis, American Red Cross founder Clara Barton, suffragist Susan B. Anthony, and generals William Tecumseh Sherman and Douglas MacArthur. (taken from wiki)
In July 2004, the US Senate published an investigation into Riggs Bank, into which most of Equatorial Guinea's oil revenues were paid until recently. This showed that accounts based at the embassy to the United States of Equatorial Guinea were allowed to make large withdrawals without properly notifying federal authorities. At least $35 million were siphoned off by long-time dictator of Equatorial Guinea, Teodoro Obiang Nguema Mbasogo, his family and senior officials of his regime.
A Saudi named Omar al-Bayoumi housed and opened bank accounts for two of the 9/11 hijackers. About two weeks after the assistance began, al-Bayoumi's wife began receiving monthly payments totaling tens of thousands of dollars from Princess Haifa bint Faisal, the wife of Saudi ambassador and Bush family confidant, Prince Bandar bin Sultan, through a Riggs bank account. The difference is night and day, my friend... as an organization, Freemasonry does not support a specific religion, nor does it espouse violence. I am sorry that you have this impression of our organization, but I assure you that it is incorrect and I encourage you to find a local Lodge and visit it with an open mind.
If you are willing to make the effort to determine if your impressions are true, I promise you that they will be proven false.
My friend, I don't know how this got in your subscriptions, but I do know that your impressions of Fremasonry couldn't be farther from the truth. Hopefully videos such like this will help bring a little truth to you about the truly honorable nature of the Masons.
In short, Masonry strives to "make good men better". It's about taking a personal challenge to improve yourself and those around you, and prides itself on the relationships built within the organization. Normally derided as a "secret" organization, the truth is that its secrecy derives from an insistence that its members share their lessons in person, not through mediums such as text, video, etc. I would recommend that you visit a Lodge in person; where are you located?
Does it count that Masonic Lodges don't espouse a particular religion? Or that they don't take political positions? How about that they don't bomb anything? Seems to me that there isn't much at all that's common to both organizations, so I'm not sure how you're lumping them together...
This is amazing in person. Especially when you realize the history in your hands.
