with that being a street car, why did you go with such a big cam (600+ lift cams are for high rpm: you'll practically never get to that high of an rpm to get the full benefit out of that cam on the street). She still sweet though with an awsome sound I must add too; Please take care of her!!!!
@cooperray76 This is not a street car, its a full blown race car (with a tag). The last Funday Sunday event in Orlando I went 9.80 @ 137 on a 100 shot and that was me missing 2nd gear. It has a different carb now (Pro Systems 870) and now it has a Mighty Mite C4 - Transbrake w/ 4800 stall. Thanks for positive comments and thanks for watching.
@ChromedOutDubs Wat would it have been if it was .030 over, 408? I got a 351W for my 1969 mach 1 and the shop I got it from does a lot of engines and they said the bored it .040 too but i always wondered wat ci they would actually be. btw im new to this stuff, only had a little backround knowledge when i bought my car 1 year when i was 16. my dad has been teaching me stuff as we go when he has time
@kraden18 Its a 410w, i just use 408w in the title because the tag is more common (more views) gotta stay smart with this advertising stuff, more views = more money! lol
@SoCalJohnston No not really, the biggest problem were the long tube headers. 2" Primaries dont fit into the engine bay very well. Everything else went pretty good.
@ChromedOutDubs ok thats good cause im lookin to buy an 89 lx and want to put a 351 or 408 in it. And the swap kinda seems like a pain. How long did it take you to do the complete swap and what year is the block you have?
@mgrah87 In this video im running a smaller carb then i have now. Right now the car has a custom built Pro-Systems Carb and it flows around 870CFM - The heads are AFR 205CC with a Spring upgrade. Also in this video the car has very small tube headers and it was running through full exhaust. Check out the newer videos of it, i changed over to a 2" primary long tube with 3.5" collectors and put the larger carb and swapped to a C4.
hello, I have a 408W I have a cam roller of 8500rpm, a ProForm carburetor 950cfm but that does not put converter, which I recommend you? the carburetor and I will be fine, thanks
How do you have a 2.5 inch exhaust with a cam that big and a motor that size? I would think that a ten second car is usually equipped with a 3" exhaust. But looks like you pulled it off so congrats. I do wonder how it would sound with a bigger exhaust.
yeah about that.... This motor shouldnt have 2.5" exhaust its way too small. The headers are 1-5/8" -TINY! I do have a set of Hookers Long Tubes, 2" Primary with a 3.5" Collector. Im waiting on my adapter plates to install them. They should free up some power for me. Im gonna try to make it to the track this weekend, first time on all the new cam, trans brake, and suspension.
how much did switching to the 351W cost you? i just got a 89 5.0 and already am ready to drop a windsor in. you wouldnt happen to be in Brevard would you?
That is a mean Stang!!!

Very nice! Love to hear it when you get them new headers on! I think an open header vid should be done at that time also! :)

Sure sounds tame for a .690 lift cam. Care to share other specs? Duration, lobe separation. Solid or Hydraulic roller?
