LOL. In Melee vids, the winner is always celebrated and the loser is either blown off or lightly praised.

Now in Brawl, the winner is ridiculously blown off with very little praise and the loser is HEAVILY praised.

I don't think it's drastically changed. It just seems that way because of the small minority of people that are Melee-only, so they shun those that play Brawl. Winning a tournament deserves praise. Those that lose should receive encouragement.

Did anyone notice that only one or 2 pepol played with projectile users? Plus wolfs forward b is a one hit ko when hit at the apex in the air at over 40 dmg.

Honestly I use Falco and Wolf and Falco is so0o0o0o0o much better... Great range and sooooooo versatile... Wolf jus anti-air and a fast smash... but u can't say anything until u see them battle... I personally believed Wario wouldn't get far in any tournament...

u rlly see futile act differently when fighting such a good player..he NEVER uses his bike to inflict damage..he always uses it as a recovery move but now u see him attk DSF with it because futile knows he needs to get damage on DSF at all costs

In Melee, the pros were so ridiculously insane, I could never dream of reaching that level... but from watching this... it doesn't look too different from a match between my friends...

I only consider myself average and I've been pretty wary of challenging really good players... but seeing this makes me feel like I actually have a chance, and won't be destroyed like I would be in Melee...

Honestly, Brawl doesn't give room for the kind of pro level you (we) were used to with Melee...it's hardly as competitive in comparison even with the Wi-Fi factor.

Keep in mind that Melee came out in 2001 and Brawl has been out for less than two months so maybe once more people get into it, it'll get back to that former level.

For the record: I liked Smash more as a fighting game (Melee) than a fun/Mario Party one (Brawl).

Brawl's great because the pros have to rely on their ability to think and react to their opponent's moves more than they have to CLACK CLACK CLACK PRE-RECORDED BUTTON COMBO TO INSTANT DEATH. It's slower, sure, and the ability to perform outrageous stuff is decreased dramatically, but that just makes it all the more sweet when you combo someone to death using your real skill and not button-memorisation.

I'm tired of the melee is more fun than brawl, or brawl is more fun that melee argument. "Fun" is objective. What may seem tedious to you could be loads of fun to others. What I'm saying is your sentence should have been

This may be tough for you to believe, but there are many people who find combos very fun. Also, most combos arent prerecorded button combinations because the opponent changes the effect of each hit with DI.

Even though it may not look like a pro match, im pretty sure there is still some skill behind it all,u may never kno what another player knows. Tournaments are a whole different story than playing against friends

In Melee, there were so many different techniques needed to master that made the game very technical. But all those techniques took time to develop.

Brawl has been out for two months, new techniques will surely be found. It might not be as technical as Melee, but I'm sure there will be an apparent gap between pros.

Actually, there is a skill gap now. If no skill was involved, how come there are always consistent placers in tourneys? Futile and DSF always get top 2.

Wavedashing came way later after the release of Melee. And L-canceling/SHFFLing weren't "discovered" they just made the transition from the first game to Melee. So there you go. Nice try, though.
