Thank you for such a great overview! I can't wait until I get exactly same one-in RED! The only thing I would wanna know is how is the page turning works. I've heard that it is a bit slow. Not like it is that important but I was hoping to see that.
Also does anybody know if this pretty thing will support Russian language? THANK YOU!
I hated the 600 because if you put it at the side of the 505 it looks like Sony are going backwards with the quality of the screen. There's way too much glare on the 600 for me so I sent it back. Still love my 505. (this is just my opinion as I had both side by side but if you can get past the glare maybe you will love it?)
The pocket has smaller screen, no touchscreen. I think it has no dictionary and no sd or duo slots, nor mp3 or AAC playback. As someone might not have interest in 3g, some may have no interest in extra space, touchscreen and music playback.
I have a prs-505 and a prs-700. It is difficult to overstate the excess of glare on the 700 vs the 500. I tried to switch over but found that the glare made the 700 almost unreadable unless you're holding it at a few certain angles... and even at those angles the text is nowhere near as clear as with the 505. I really hope the 600 fixes this issue, though I don't think wife will let me buy yet another reader regardless, heh.
i guess if you're used to crisper text and a more matte screen for a few years, it would have an effect on you. This is really my first experience with eReaders so i doubt i'd be much of a stickler. Besides being a voracious reader, I am an artist / photographer / music producer with tons of PDF's so the expandable memory card slot is ideal so i can excuse a few design nits on Sony's part. Despite all the salt thrown at the 600, i think i will cop one. Good video man. Thanks.
I love the idea of the dictionary, but won't be giving up my 505 for this model. I don't think sony have quite got it right. Too much glare; a strange interface; also, I don't like the lack of a book-like cover. Smudgy too.
I agree, which is why I just returned this Reader. My 505 has too good of a display and that is more important to me than the dictionary and note taking ability.
@muskndusk I agree. I returned my Nook for this one but as soon after I turned on this unit I noticed right away the excessive glare. No matter how I position myself to any lighting condition I cannot get rid of the glare. I forced myself to overcome this issue but I ended up hating this device more and more until I decided I got enough and this has to go back to the store and get back again the humble Nook.
This is a great video! Now I know how to use the dictionary, :) Kinda lazy to read through the manual.

Anyone know how much the screens cost to repair (estimate) for the Sony PRS-600? I did see one go for £21 on eBay with just a broken screen

One of the best reviews I've seen on this device. Seems like a great device for a first e reader.
