These were awesome guitars with MIDI outputs. The only guitar to have MIDI output. Imagine connecting this to a sound module and playing it... Awesome !

I know, I have a friend who bought one of these exact guitars, to use as a midi controller, but I don't know anything about that stuff. I just liked it because everything I played on it sounded like old Nintendo music. I was playing songs from the 1950s, by The Ventures and they sounded like Mega Man music. Can you turn off that "vibrato" sound, so that it just makes smooth, sustained, single notes?

Friend, forget the cheesy built-in sounds. It has midi. People will use it as a midi controller to play sounds from their synthesizers, sound modules, and virtual instrument software.

the DG-20 had midi, but not the DG-1. Without modification, of course.

@brandonmcmahan The sound he's using is electric mandolin. You can change the sound to whatever you want
