I wouldn't buy another camry if my life depended upon it! I have an 08 and it's a piece of crap, sun visor break easily and seat belts malfunction. plus this is the same vehicle that had many flaws but people keep buying this crap! the japanese can keep this junk.
@marcusflair68 oh my God! are you really this stupid? You are dissing a car simply because you broke the sunvisor and a minor seat belt flaw and then making a 100% stereotyped generalization about japan? They are offering superior quailty at a great price. now STFU

i prefer the exterior of today's Camry. But for all that the '12 gives you, and the price drop, it's a good trade off. the 200hp hybrid has me intrigued. And, I've only bought American so far. I'll be checking it out. Well done Toyota.
Toyota is now racing their Camrys is NASCAR races and winning. However, they refuse to introduce a race-inspired car for the general public. Still same old boring 278 hp engine they have had for many years. Why don`t they join all the other manufacturers who race in NASCAR who offers a "beefed-up" version for their NASCAR fans. Sam
Do we really want to buy another Toyota built in the US - considering the recall? I say wait for them to come from Japan. I am sorry to say, but the news of which models were on recall were built in the US-- and local Toyota sales people advised me to look for the J in the vin # before I buy a Toyota-- still leaves me wondering.
@phi413pastor I'm afraid you'll be waiting forever. Toyota USA announced that the Camry will no longer be manufactured in Japan and shipped to the U.S. All Camry's from now on will be 100% American made. But, it is well-known that Camry's produced in Japan have a FAR superior quality to Camry's produced in the USA. Sorry to say.
Goofy dancers....no point in that kind of silliness. The car, though, is handsome enough. Looks like the interior is quite nice...and that's where you spend your time....not on the outside.
god damn it... another boring car. where is the inventive style thinking that made the PT-cruiser or the dodge avenger, the 1991 Honda Crx was even more creative then this piece of tin....
@JustAnotherGay96 Right, but they've only been revised and so on since 92. The 91 and older camry's had a different platform. But the 92 to current, still use the same platform, like you said. Just stretched out each generation and revamped. So you're right there. :)
@JustAnotherGay96 You've got your years mixed up. I know a lot about cars. The 2002-2006 was a generation. Not 03-06. The 02-06 was called the XV30 Platform. The current 07-11 is called the XV40. The new 2012 XV50. The camry has used the XV since 1992. But in different forms.
@JustAnotherGay96 Hey, I'm going by what Ford says. They said that it's not a second generation Fusion. They won't have a second generation till 2013. The Camry has used a new platform for each generation. The current 2007-2011 Camry uses the Avalon platform.
@veivei My guess is that its an American Toyota design. Look at 2011 honda odyssey, it's an American design van. It's seriously hideous. I wish we could just have and actual JAPAN designed Toyota.
Also look at Arabia's 2011 Toyota Aurion compared to U.S 2011 camry. The Arabia's Aurion blew me away. I wish we had cars like that here in the U.S
I don't know who Toyota is trying to attract buying there cars , I guess Soccer Moms and Old People because that's who I see driving those boring ass cars anyway. Toyota needs to make a TRD Trim for enthusiasts , Turbo or Supercharge and put a 6 or 5 speed manual tranny , make it a sleeper , then were talking!
Wow I am hoping to see the Camry family very soon. And now Toyota has two Hybrid families coming in the future! The Prius Family and now this. Well looks like when the 2012 Camry comes in North Hollywood I will so be there!
Toyota doesnt care about the .01 percent of consumers that car about hp and burning gas and other bullshit some Americans like. That is why they are one of the best selling car companies on earth.
The headlights copied the Kia Forte/Koup and the grille looks just like a lot of the new Hyundais. Good job Toyota. You copied two nice cars and the result is another boring grandma car. Oh, and the rear looks like it digressed back to the older Camry.. like maybe a 2006 model.
@mertechperformance Actually, no. The car manufacturers that TRY to make nice looking cars set themselves apart. This Toyota is just extremely uninspired, and whoever designed it didn't feel it necessary to make it unique. Oh, and lets not go blaming the Europeans just because Toyota can't design a nice looking car.
ABOUT the same but smaller, and if you've driven any of the new Ford products the reason their mileage has improved so much is from taller gearing....... They drive slow as shit they feel like a good 20-50hp less depending upon which model....
Yeah but what happens if you hit a pedestrian or another car when driving a 300 hp car? You would go to jail for a long long time. A 178 hp car is much safer.
Japanese cars have been superior for decades. This is non-issue. With every purchase of a Japanese vehicle, you dont only get quality. You also get peace of mind.
Looks like the Camry is back. The previous gen. was cheap and had a crap interior. But the 2012 looks hot and much improved. I wonder what the 2013 Ford Fusion will be like? Another great car. Camry, Accord and Fusion are the best.
@JeremyFuhenstasser The Fusion was not redesigned for 2010. It was face lifted and updated. It's still in it's first generation. Built on the Mazda6 platform. There will be a whole new Fusion, built on a Ford platform, coming out in 2013.
@JeremyFuhenstasser They do not call the current Fusion, a second generation. It's an update, a face lift. I know what I"m talking about. The current Fusion is still the first generation, with major changes.
The narration and persuasion tactics in this video seems a little sales-pitchy, and, in conjunction with the unrealistic street celebration in the beginning made me feel kind of disconnected. But this specification-wise... this car seems to be absolutely amazing.
@ohdantheman Sorry to tell you, that I disagree, I bought a ford SUV in 2008 I barely use the air conditioner now the compressor is gone I have to spend 1,500 to buy a new air conditioner compressor. I will never buy another American made car again, even though knowing is hurting us.
@ohdantheman Toyota last almost forever, even Hyundai are building very good reliable cars. American cars are not like the ones build in the 60 and 70 because majority use Chinese parts, these American cars some of them are not even made here.
@ohdantheman Remember one thing our government sold out America future to the Chinese even American soul; be ready to learn mandarin and work for a few pennies when this happened. Chinese are buying most of the property in Detroit Michigan, New York, Washington and now they are going to build the biggest casino in USA in Florida Miami herald building.
@ohdantheman Those car's built with "chop sticks" will last longer and perform much better than your shitty american car that breaks down in less than 5 years. Besides those "american" cars have parts made from China anyways; so you cant really say that your car is "american."

When I saw The 2012 Camry ???!!??!??!??!? I was so Ashamed about the Whole design N concept !!!! , I felt the pAin thru myself seeing This design, I cannot accept this, but i will still be A toyota Lover
I was expecting something much more exciting from you Toyota. Well I quest that's how company lose their grip. I changing to Hyundai , I mean have you seen that all new Sonata GOD! that sexy.
damn honda and toyota have really lost it ... i had a 92 camry and a 98 civic but these new designs are just ugly . They need to take a page from Nissan and Hyundai and focus on aesthetics as much as they do on safety and mpg...
This really sucks! I was hoping for Toyota to catch up with Hyundai's radical designs. Nissan had class leading designs in 2003 when Hyundai was garbage. But Hyundai's rise to the top was swift. Any 2011+ hyundai model will be a killer. I LOVE the new Sonata - looks way better than this.
Toyota Camry 2011 actually looked better...is Toyota losing the plot?
The new SE Camry is sexy ! Simply eye opening ! The added safety features, sleek hard tight tolerance designed lines on the vehicle, ghost chrome rims, lexus style interior...I will have one in my drive way for sure !!!!
it's ugly and boxy. but i guess if they looked good, were fun to drive and were reliable that'd be to much to ask. I wonder what the es is gonna look like they usually almost look identical camry.
Very nice redesign! I own a 93 camry 212k miles on it still fucken running! I would definitely consider a trade in for this one! Toyota still fucken owns! :)
First, I"m far from a tree hugger and I don't even have a Prius. Second, I don't give a rat's ass what is in the UK market because I don't live there. And those diesels still don't have near the amount of the low emissions hybrids have and the reliability of the European brands is hilariously comical.
@hewittzhong I think the Sonata is better designed than the Camry. I don't like either of them honestly, I think the new Kia Optima all out beats them in design.
To anyone hating on the 2012 Camry,...take one for a test drive, then comment. Unless you are one of the handful of media, or focus group customers who've driven it and spent some time in it, you are only speculating on what you think its like. Its a significantly refined Camry compared to the 2011, and the 2011 is a great car. It must be if its been the #1 selling car in America for nine straight years. I'm waiting for the SE, I understand its a completely different animal.
@EliteSlayer542 Doesn't matter, 35 mpg is the top of the class. Therefore they can say its best in class. Not to mention the Camry Hybrid destroys the Sonata Hybrid in MPG, and overall driveability based on the reviews.
@crackaddict444 Whatever dude, Hybrids are a scam. A useless technology. Diesels can output far more power and over performance while returning very similar or better mpg ratings.
@EliteSlayer542 Must be why the highest MPG car you can buy in the US is a Diesel. Wait a second, it's not. It's the Prius. The technology isn't useless, says the general public as hybrid sales continue to grow and outsell diesels. Not to mention, diesels don't come close to the emissions of hybrids.
@crackaddict444 You just said it yourself. "In the US". Now, FYI, the Prius gets 51/48 mpg. While VW's Diesel Bluemotion Passat receives 74.8 mpg combined. In the UK, every single automaker offers diesel, primarily high brands like Mercedes and Audi. They all offer far better performance (if you tree huggers even know the meaning of the word) and return hybrid like fuel economy.
@JeremyFuhenstasser Uhm, those numbers are from EPA, not real. I don't think you can get even near those numbers with a sonata and I believe you can with the Camry.
@JeremyFuhenstasser The Sonata does get 200hp. The 2.4L SE model does and the 2.0T SE and Limited models make 274hp. The basic 2.4L makes 198hp. Just looked it up on Hyundai's website.
@giannial1985 Yes, and it's unable to make better numbers than its regular version (consumption). I suggest you to not believe hyundai's misleading ads.
Huh? "lost their cool factor"? When was the last time Toyota was cool? When they still made Supras? Toyota has mainly been about boring- as in "nothing fails". They've only recently tried to become cool again with their LFA stuff (which only proved that the most expensive carbon fibre high tech car Toyota makes is only about as fast as a much cheaper Nissan ;) ).
Most people that are hating on the new Camry or Toyota in general are people that are upset that a Japanese Car company is the best selling brand. Might be boring but they last forever!
This reveal show actually made me embarassed for Toyota. They've definitely lost their "cool" factor. Only leftist eunuchs driving their precious Priussss still like Toyota. What a bland, boring, mediocre bleh of a driving appliance...
This car is a total and epic FAIL.
Don't blame the earthquake either... hint: get a new designer.
This is definitely a nice clean upscale looking car. Not as gimmicky as some of the other midsize cars on the market. 120lbs lighter with the same V-6, the SE should be VERY quick. Good job.
TOYOTA REALLY!?? We have enough junk for US cars, please continue your reputation for building higher quality, reliable vehicles. And sadly the interior on this still looks a tad cheap, and fit and finish needs to be better. It's great they're made in the US, but I want my vehicle to retain that solid Japanese feeling.
@MrMakotonet Agreed, but for being made in the US, at least you cant rattle the whole center counsel and dash board like you can on most GM products. Do they think all Americans are stupid to buy such junk??? Is German or Japanese quality, made in America to much to ask for?? :D

i liked the last generation's sport edition camrys... those looked really nice but i guess its time to move on to new things
luis3826 6 months ago
damn honda and toyota have really lost it ... i had a 92 camry and a 98 civic but these new designs are just ugly . They need to take a page from Nissan and Hyundai and focus on aesthetics as much as they do on safety and mpg...
angelsfan26 6 months ago
This really sucks! I was hoping for Toyota to catch up with Hyundai's radical designs. Nissan had class leading designs in 2003 when Hyundai was garbage. But Hyundai's rise to the top was swift. Any 2011+ hyundai model will be a killer. I LOVE the new Sonata - looks way better than this.
Toyota Camry 2011 actually looked better...is Toyota losing the plot?
freebird20002012 6 months ago
@freebird20002012
Hyundai may be radical now, but can they be radical again the next time around? Methinks they've run out of juices and can't improve anymore.
JeremyFuhenstasser 6 months ago
The new SE Camry is sexy ! Simply eye opening ! The added safety features, sleek hard tight tolerance designed lines on the vehicle, ghost chrome rims, lexus style interior...I will have one in my drive way for sure !!!!

It's only new in America
MrOneDr 6 months ago
it's ugly and boxy. but i guess if they looked good, were fun to drive and were reliable that'd be to much to ask. I wonder what the es is gonna look like they usually almost look identical camry.
dirtyyoungin 6 months ago
Very nice redesign! I own a 93 camry 212k miles on it still fucken running! I would definitely consider a trade in for this one! Toyota still fucken owns! :)
tepeke88 6 months ago
Toyota should play up their Japanese heritage a little. Akio Toyoda, don't try to sound too American!
TheArfdog 6 months ago
First, I"m far from a tree hugger and I don't even have a Prius. Second, I don't give a rat's ass what is in the UK market because I don't live there. And those diesels still don't have near the amount of the low emissions hybrids have and the reliability of the European brands is hilariously comical.

wow akio toyoda is the man.

how despearte~ toyota even lower their price to match the sonata lol
tochjo772 6 months ago
do you think Hyundai sonata is better designed than 2012 Camry?
hewittzhong 6 months ago
@hewittzhong I think the Sonata is better designed than the Camry. I don't like either of them honestly, I think the new Kia Optima all out beats them in design.
joshy052 6 months ago
To anyone hating on the 2012 Camry,...take one for a test drive, then comment. Unless you are one of the handful of media, or focus group customers who've driven it and spent some time in it, you are only speculating on what you think its like. Its a significantly refined Camry compared to the 2011, and the 2011 is a great car. It must be if its been the #1 selling car in America for nine straight years. I'm waiting for the SE, I understand its a completely different animal.
F3D2Skynight2 6 months ago
I was looking forward to trading my 2011 Camry for the "somewhat" all new 2012 model, but I think I'm going to keep what I have...
ctrent859 6 months ago
@ctrent859
The differences are enormous. Unless you want to keep bleeding fuel money, feel free to keep the 2011. The 2012 gets WAY better gas mileage.
JeremyFuhenstasser 6 months ago
35mpg is not best in class. It's tied for best with the superior Hyundai Sonata. Only diffrence is, the Sonata has 200Hp.
EliteSlayer542 6 months ago
@EliteSlayer542 Doesn't matter, 35 mpg is the top of the class. Therefore they can say its best in class. Not to mention the Camry Hybrid destroys the Sonata Hybrid in MPG, and overall driveability based on the reviews.
crackaddict444 6 months ago
@crackaddict444 Whatever dude, Hybrids are a scam. A useless technology. Diesels can output far more power and over performance while returning very similar or better mpg ratings.
EliteSlayer542 6 months ago
@EliteSlayer542
Dude, you should stop smoking those things you do... get back to reality.
jmmp00 6 months ago
@jmmp00 You should open your closed mind and stop being so ignorant. Do some research before dissing you prick.
EliteSlayer542 6 months ago
@EliteSlayer542 Your language says it all. One does not need to say anything more. Thanks for that.
jmmp00 5 months ago
@EliteSlayer542 Must be why the highest MPG car you can buy in the US is a Diesel. Wait a second, it's not. It's the Prius. The technology isn't useless, says the general public as hybrid sales continue to grow and outsell diesels. Not to mention, diesels don't come close to the emissions of hybrids.
crackaddict444 6 months ago
@crackaddict444 You just said it yourself. "In the US". Now, FYI, the Prius gets 51/48 mpg. While VW's Diesel Bluemotion Passat receives 74.8 mpg combined. In the UK, every single automaker offers diesel, primarily high brands like Mercedes and Audi. They all offer far better performance (if you tree huggers even know the meaning of the word) and return hybrid like fuel economy.
EliteSlayer542 6 months ago
@EliteSlayer542
Diesels are smelly ewwwwwwww.
JeremyFuhenstasser 6 months ago
@crackaddict444
Don't forget city mileage. Sonata gets 24 but Camry gets 25. Camry and Sonata are tied for highway.
JeremyFuhenstasser 6 months ago
@JeremyFuhenstasser Uhm, those numbers are from EPA, not real. I don't think you can get even near those numbers with a sonata and I believe you can with the Camry.
SupportForToyota 6 months ago
@EliteSlayer542
Sonata gets 24 city, Camry gets 25. Sonata also doesn't get 200 hp, it's 195 hp on their website.
JeremyFuhenstasser 6 months ago
@JeremyFuhenstasser The Sonata does get 200hp. The 2.4L SE model does and the 2.0T SE and Limited models make 274hp. The basic 2.4L makes 198hp. Just looked it up on Hyundai's website.
giannial1985 6 months ago
@giannial1985 He/she is talking about the hybrid...
OrangeChickenist 6 months ago
@OrangeChickenist Well, in that case, the hybrid Sonata makes 206 hp. lol
giannial1985 6 months ago
@giannial1985 Yes, and it's unable to make better numbers than its regular version (consumption). I suggest you to not believe hyundai's misleading ads.
SupportForToyota 6 months ago
@SupportForToyota lol, what ads?? I looked up the specs. online. I'm very into cars and look up everything and make sure it's right.
giannial1985 6 months ago
@giannial1985 The sonata hybrid gets worse numbers than its regular version and that's not written on papers or ads.
SupportForToyota 6 months ago
@SupportForToyota I doubt that very much
giannial1985 6 months ago
It looks like a Prius... Does Toyota stick to the prius's design now?? If that's a fact, then shit.. -.-

Why is Frank Hamill in this commercial??
bbysteven06 6 months ago
Huh? "lost their cool factor"? When was the last time Toyota was cool? When they still made Supras? Toyota has mainly been about boring- as in "nothing fails". They've only recently tried to become cool again with their LFA stuff (which only proved that the most expensive carbon fibre high tech car Toyota makes is only about as fast as a much cheaper Nissan ;) ).
lylyeoh 6 months ago
love the stuff, good commitment there from the president! well done marketing.

spike2121212121 6 months ago
why does the passenger side of the dash look like poor fitting?
MRBRAD9070 6 months ago
Most people that are hating on the new Camry or Toyota in general are people that are upset that a Japanese Car company is the best selling brand. Might be boring but they last forever!

USA4July1776 6 months ago
This reveal show actually made me embarassed for Toyota. They've definitely lost their "cool" factor. Only leftist eunuchs driving their precious Priussss still like Toyota. What a bland, boring, mediocre bleh of a driving appliance...
This car is a total and epic FAIL.
Don't blame the earthquake either... hint: get a new designer.

I LIKE IT! very well put together, and of course built with that same Toyota quality and care that we all know and love!
MrAhinduLOL 6 months ago
This is definitely a nice clean upscale looking car. Not as gimmicky as some of the other midsize cars on the market. 120lbs lighter with the same V-6, the SE should be VERY quick. Good job.
ytj22 6 months ago
TOYOTA REALLY!?? We have enough junk for US cars, please continue your reputation for building higher quality, reliable vehicles. And sadly the interior on this still looks a tad cheap, and fit and finish needs to be better. It's great they're made in the US, but I want my vehicle to retain that solid Japanese feeling.
Zinizzle 6 months ago
looks uglier.

The New US Toyota Camry Revealed Today ! ... and incredibly cheap as usual :D
MrMakotonet 6 months ago
@MrMakotonet Agreed, but for being made in the US, at least you cant rattle the whole center counsel and dash board like you can on most GM products. Do they think all Americans are stupid to buy such junk??? Is German or Japanese quality, made in America to much to ask for?? :D
Zinizzle 6 months ago
@Zinizzle On the 2007-2011 camry, you can pull apart the counsel and dash ;) Cheap interior. Hopefully the 2012 is improved. Looks like it.
