  • I used to have this album years ago, and I havent heard it till now. Thanx whoevers put this on. I used to love this. xxx

  • Pete Rock - We roll ><<<< BADMAN TING

  • Wow. Forgot all about this track. I'm 50. I wore this groove out when it came out. This whole album I found fascinating. Use to listen to it alone, headphones, in my room. Musta been 13/14 or so. Living in Germany. Didn't have any friends into funk/Kool. Lookin at all these comments regarding this album makes me feel like cryin. I had no idea others were similarly moved. The internet is amazing. (A blessing AND a curse). Oh,well. Peace to all.

  • i got this album and still play it to this day.. the best album they had

  • EXCELLENT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • I thought Pete was doing those snare breaks. LOL!!!!!! I shulda read the credits. And I call myself a producer. LOL!

  • This song shows how they were capable of so much more than their later cheesy commercial songs like Celebrate, Cherish, Ladies Night, etc.

  • @paulph12002 This album was one of my favorites in college, I wore it out. All the songs are so good, the title cut my favorite. Bought this on CD a few years ago and loved it all over again. When "Celebration" came out, the radio stations played it to death, so much so that I cannot listen to it if it comes on the radio now. Agree this is better than their later commercial songs. Out of those I do like "Fresh" because you hardly ever hear it and have always liked "Ladies Night."

  • @BridgetR72 I was still in my teens - 15 years old, to be exact. Anyhow, they had a jazz/funk style that we appreciated back then. I really wish that groups would return to including instrumentals in their repertoires, like Kool & the Gang, EWF. We would pay to see these bands perform the non-vocals as much as we would pay to hear the vocals. What has happened over the years?

  • dom kennedy- home alone

  • Sampled By: Masta Ace - U Can't Find Me

  • this a true mastersound!

  • True, Islam...

  • This was a smart ass sample Pete rock used...shit crack...

i think i liked them better in this form as a jazz band...

  • This album signaled a turning point in Kool and the Gangs "concsiousness." Their new found spirituality. I bought it as soon as they released it and it rates...for me... as their best! Here is a suggestion go crate diggin for this album "Light of Worlds" I promise you there are many great tunes that are sample worthy . Oh and they stand up by themselves also. I'm just sayin'
  • Masta Ace Inc. "You Can`t Find Me" Nice sample from a good song.

  • I consider Pete Rock to be one of the best hip hop producers to ever bless a track, but it seems Im gonna have to start paying homage to the originators and true creators.Pete is STILL one of my favorite behind J Dilla, but all he here did was recognize fire and hit the record button. Respect due

  • @baldboy1da1 , Word! Pete Rock...damn..he hooked this joint up son, but the original is still my favorite. Speaking of Pete Rock did you know that Guru would have been fifty this July? I love the music I've grown up listening to. I've been a fan of Rap & Hip Hop since it's inception and House, Free Style, Funk, Jazz. I remember listening to this joint when I was a teenager back in Philly in the 70's and I was lost for words. This song and "Whisper Softly" are two of my favorites.

  • DJ WestWeed used to mix this loop bacc in the 80s, he uses it in his recent album, checc it out its silk !!

    checc on myspace: djwestweedrc

  • I've spoken those words 100 times and not once have I ever sounded that gooood. Well maybe once! How romantic and dedicated is that!!

  • The Pride of our hometown Jersey City,NJ.

  • Masta Ace's They Cant Find Me sampled the very beginning of this song. Thats a really dope sound.

  • top 30 album of all time..this album in so many ways was innovative musical futuristic psychadellic positive for it's time

  • @go2class I agree. This album is absolutely brilliant from top to bottom. They are supremely underrated.

  • George Benson has a sample that sounds like this in that HUGE hit he had called "Breezin"

  • @humanparadox ---Actually Bobby Womack created the song first and George Benson remade it.

  • @humanparadox I think you are speaking of George's tune, ( Livin; inside your love)

  • im 21 my dad made me listen to these records at the age of 10 and 11 now i realize why this is one of the most well put together albums of all time in my opinion

  • anybody who says hip Hop sucks dont know what hip hop is. this groove right here is the loop of the groove for Rap. Much love to the Groove nation out there

  • Kool this is too COOOOOOOOOOOOL!

  • i don´t know but i find that meldoy sooo sad =(

  • One of their best songs ever. Not their most popular but one of their best in my opinion.

  • MASTA ACE SAMPLED THIS!

  • This is Kool & the Gang's musical contribution during their sojourn within the Nation of Islam.

9 songs - all classics. By far their most spiritual work to date.

  • amber you don't have to change for me...know i love just the way you are.

  • This is one of those far out cuts fromback in the day, just was'nt long enough.

  • pete rock , kool and the gang.... this is all i need to be

    lost in music . . thanks x

  • Moms used to play this. thank you

  • I have this on record and it skips.Been waiting a long time for this.

  • I remember when I was a little kid, back in the early 80's, that I put this album on my record player, and this song really stood out to me. Nearly 30 years later, it still sounds good, and the lyrics mean even more to me!!

  • thx!!!!!!!!!

  • Did Anyone Sample This Besides Pete and Master Ace???

  • @BlazeThis93 Pete Rock Sampled this also on his NY Finest LP "We Roll"

  • one of my favs!!! thanx for posting!!!

  • Serenity..Beautiful!

  • masta ace 'u can't find me' sampled this....love the masta ace tune....but not as much as this the original....this is amazing!

  • Pete Rock we rollin

  • My favorite song, this one and summer madness are great.

  • I love this song.

  • wow if it wasn't for the pete rock sample i wouldn't have found this jewel -

  • @filmychris and if it wasnt for this jewel you wouldnt have found pete rock

  • @hotvision I know Pete Rock since a long long......long time ago

  • @hotvision I know you are attempting to sound clever but that made no sense.I'm sure plenty of people were listening to Pete Rock and his production of others and never heard this until recently.I'm one of them. The beauty of sampling is it brings us to the actual songs by these groups/singers.

  • I used to pause/record the break back in '87. I've always thought this song was sad but tough. The music that is. Their vocals left something to be desired IMHO. JT made that happen. Can't beat the analog key board sound.

  • pedro amigo buenos!

  • pete rock sampled this song in that track with jim jones and max b

  • One of the illest beats EVER!! I used to loop this all the time...

  • This is maybe the shortest Kool & The Gang song on record. It says so much in such a short time. It is true "Less is more."

  • Just Pick any cut. "Light of Worlds" is one of the best concept albums ever made by a funk group.

  • this is one the best songs they made

  • i lovee mittttt

  • One of my favorite joints...

  • classic!!

  • I walk I Walk I Walk like a zombie in the night. I love this song.

  • You came, you came, you came, and you brought me back to life...me too oleold!!

  • this is my cut.

  • i love this song!

    is great!

  • great song, masta ace samples the song on 'u can't find me' which is a wiked tune aswel!

  • Yes "U Can't find me" from 1995's "Sittin' on Chrome" album.

  • lol gud shit man, a tru hip-hop head indeed

  • It was also used recently on "We Roll" performed by Jim Jones, Max B and Pete Rock(who does the beat aswell).
