speakers need to be loud therefore needs to be more powerful, therefore electricity circuit needs to work better etc. so speakers in the same quality as headphones are more expensive because it's harder and more expensive to make them. plus speaker sounds need to travel through more air, losing bass in the process. Plus headphones allow you to listen to music at night really loud without waking anyone up. imo headphones are WELL worth buying. I recommend :)
