Can i just use normal vinar with 2tsp salt and 1/4 cup of sugar mixed in with normal vinear cause i dont really wanna buy a tiny bottle of rice vinehar for 7$ please reply thank you
Regular vinegar just won't work. $7 for a bottle of rice vinegar? Wow! The only kind of places that charge crazy prices like that are health food stores. I never pay more than $3.00 a bottle. If you're in a small town or a city that doesn't have an Asian grocery store, try Amazon. You'll get a good deal there. Thanks for dropping by!
I think you are referring to "konbu" which is a sea vegetable. It isn't necessary to add this. Thanks for watching my video and taking the time to contact me.
Umm. For the Sushi Rice, do you SPECIFICALLY need Japanese Sushi rice or can you use the traditional rice (cuz I got bags of em')? And including adding the vinegar
You can't use long-grain rice which is the stuff you probably have in your cupboard. You need short-grain rice. Its shorter and rounder. Don't use regular vinegar to season the sushi rice.
diysushirecipes, are you familiar with brown and haiga rice, being made into sushi rice; just like white rice? I ate sushi made with brown rice before, it tastes good. It tastes a little different than white rice. I knew that white rice is not healthy for you, because white rice has no vital nutrients; but brown and haiga rice do have vital nutrients, because they're healthier than white rice.
ya ive been buying alot of sushi from the local walmart were they have a sushi bar
the chef there saya you have to boils the shrimp in water and sesamie oil...and the sspicy salmon as well ..he says thats wat gives the sushi a better taste...cause wen i make spicy shrimp roll at home it dont taste the same...is that wat i have to do is use sesamie oil?
When you pour the vinegar on the rice, why do you have to pour it on the spoon first?

An ordinary sauce pan with a tight-fitting lid will do just as well. Thanks for visiting!

anthony26528 2 years ago
I'm not sure what you mean by "Asian rice". Just make sure the words "short-grain" appear somewhere on the package!
Use "rice wine" vinegar.
