Instead, Clinton-era our ships at sea, our embassies (two at a time) and our buildings here (WTC 1993) and overseas (Kobar Towers)...meanwhile, not a single successful terrorist attack outside the battle zone since 9/11.

Daniel, you are wrong factually. Global terrorism is WAY down around the globe since the Bush administration. This is a FACTUAL STATEMENT meaning that you can, if you wish, look it up.
And, yes, the fact that America has been kept safe from Islamic fascists is singularly important because as America goes so goes the world. If the Islamists (or the socialists for that matter) succeed in destroy America's economy, so goes the economy of the world.

2. No - two of them owe their freedom to, USA, Brittain, all the rest of the allies and most of all Russia. Norway was liberated by the Soviets, Neither Switzerland or Sweden where involved in WW2. Finland was never liberated by anybody but themselves. Denmark was liberated by the Brittish. The US did not decide to fight nazism until it was attacked. I would not refer to cheering as a sympathetic demonstration. Not all Germans were Nazis but all (for the most part) Nazis were German. We had to bomb the shit out of Germany to force them to submit. Lots of nice Germans paid the price for allowing the Nazis to execute their holy war. As for the bomber offensive against Germany: It was a failure causing the people of Germany to unite - it only started being successful when it began to target oilplants and refineries (and where it not for the Russians even that would have been ineffectual.)

It did unite them - Although it cast some doubt on the leadership it never even came close to approaching its goal: namely a collapse of the homefront. Read any serious book on the bomberoffensive against Germany (not your US elimentary school book). It had no substantial effect on german battlefield morale. Most german units by 1944 had what was referred to as a "crazy Fritz" - someone who had lost everything in the war and only lived to kill allies.

Part 2/2: The german war industry peaked around october 1944(!) - only when the allied armies entered Germany did it fall apart. However the Ardennes offensive was halted earlier than it would otherwise have been since the tanks only had fuel for some 120km. This was due to the fact that the bombers had begun to attack oiltargets. And to the rest of your comment: Right back at ya!
