  • How come this documentary never points out that the M50 Nuclear powered plane was only a hoax by Aviation Week Magazine? The M50 was a real prototype bomber, but was never nuclear-powered.

  • @JetMech72 Well, that'll teach me to watch the whole video before commenting. Disregard my previous post.

  • who can say what else did?

not us.. we a re no-one.

NOw.. we could make one easily

  • tjhe xb 70 flew

  • thumbs up if you watched the wholeseries in 2011

  • what an idiot??/ how can one say technology is too ambitious??? suppression of technology , how foul.

  • No Soviet nuclear aircraft! Liar, liar, pants on fire!

  • WOW! This show from early USA propaganda machine have being put on lying to their own people. The lie on USSR atomic Bomber and USA govt reopen operation to throw away money to this companies lame.

  • The whole cold war was a hoax! The ones supplying the money control state, economy, education and military.

If it´s not the state and country itself that supplies money, then it is steered by an outside and more important enemy power.

  • SORRY BUT WATS THE DIFFERENCE BETWEEN NUCLEAR AND ATOMIC TECHNOLOGY!!! pls advice

    \

  • @CaptainFelixTan1 Atomic is an older term, usually associated with the wild visions of the future (like atomic cars, bombers, rayguns etc)., Nuclear is more correct: froms the nucleus of atoms (since the rest is huge emptyness and some tiny electrons). But Atomic sounds way sexier imho.

  • @JeffBilkins thanks alot pal

  • @CaptainFelixTan1 fisson and fusion.

  • @CaptainFelixTan1 atomic is a more primitive bomb to nuclear i looked up how but i cant remember how there diffrent there designed diffrent (hydrogen bomb>nuclear bomb>atom bomb)

  • @9911MU51C hydrogen is greater than nuclear?

  • @CaptainFelixTan1 yeah most of the 1 megaton+ bombs are hydrogen

  • @9911MU51C thanks alot !!! you taught me quite a bit

  • @CaptainFelixTan1 i see you have had lots of replies, but if you really want a good insight into the types of nuclear bombs i recommend the wiki page for nuclear weapon, its quite a fascinating read.

  • @frackcha thanks alot!! cheers

  • "how could Russia have overtaken the US in *insert technology here* "

All else being equal in technical expertise, money and motivation, my bet is their paymasters throwing out the safety book and piling on the pressure so jeopardising the health and lives of the people for the personal pride of the political elite.

  • Fucking atomic plane. LOL.

  • @cochranexyz LOL :D

  • the bounder has black exhaust which means it is burning carbon(hydrocarbons). not just heating air. and not burning those hydrocarbons very efficiently at that.

  • They could have used gel shielding, light and works extremely well.

  • @GunsOfThePhoenix it doesnt even work well as a foot insole

  • Nuclear airplanes, what nonsense. Nuclear energy does one thing well, boil water.

  • they should create atomic shutle so we could explore universe...

  • @leparditas You need Air to power it.

    No air in space.

  • @thebestpioltever no russia already has the engine

the plans for this rocket will be finished by 2012 and by 2015 the rocket should be completed

  • @thebestpioltever

Actually a lot of the work on this project was eventually moved to NASA and used for the NERVA nuclear thermo rocket engine program which could have taken us to Mars had NASA not been gutted by Nixon in the 70s.

Some of the concepts of the light weight shielding live on in NASA's reference mission for Mars which are mostly NTR and or nuclear electric.

  • Look up all the stuff they did in Georgia as part of this program. There's a park down there where you can walk around and hike where the nuclear aircraft program ran naked unshielded nuclear reactors to test materials and stuff. Wild!

  • At the time, I was a Kennedy fan. We used to laugh at Eisenhower. He was so old-fashioned. But today, the more I read about the history of the early Cold War, the smarter Eisenhower seems, and the dumber Kennedy seems.

  • Both Eisenhower and Kennedy were fed false info from the CIA ( Allen Dulles) and the military/ industrial complex so as to create the a phoney threat and cause them to spend money on useless defense contracts, most of which would never be used. Both Presidents were kept in the dark of the real status of Soviet threat. Both the bomber and missle gaps were false and the Pentagon knew it. Movie to see for more info : " WHY WE FIGHT" tells many facts on this subject.

  • that is a VERY GOOD dvd!

    not biased in any way!

  • That is because being a former General in the Army, Eisenhower saw and heard so many things first hand that led him to that conclusion.

  • @Axgoodofdunemaul - I mainly agree. Despite his personal failings I think Kennedy was more admirable than you give him credit here but Eisenhower was a distinguished military man who came home and also "won the peace". As time goes on Eisenhower appears more and more wise. As an Aussie but I bitterly lament the lack of someone of Eisenhower's (or our Curtin's) caliber at the helm of our countries during the last 10 years.

  • @hogey74

If it makes you feel any better, imagine being a pom and having to put up with our exuses for leaders mate :-)

  • @Axgoodofdunemaul many of Eisenhower's achievements were mostly classified until now. The historical consensus is that if Kennedy hadn't been assassinated, Kennedy would have been a mediocre president. Eisenhower warned against the military-industrial complex as he was a first hand witness to it during WWII.

  • @Axgoodofdunemaul: Yeah, old Ike wasn't stupid... He was smart enough to se the military-industrial complex coming - too bad no one listened to him on that account :\

  • @Axgoodofdunemaul Eisenhower was a weeie! Was a noboby---now PATTON was a Real American General...Ike was just and always a "led pusher".

  • @Axgoodofdunemaul

Kennedy was a pretty boy celebrity who was only in the white house because of daddy's rum running money.

  • @escueladeleyi Yes, and he's the one who got us into Vietnam, too. The idea that if he hadn't been assassinated there would have been no Vietnam War is a myth.

  • @Axgoodofdunemaul My grandpa worked for kennedy as a military advisor

  • @Axgoodofdunemaul Kennedy wasn't dumb. He solved the Cuba-crisis without causing a nuclear war. And as a German I use to remind his famous Berlin-speech. And don't forget the candidate of the Republicans who wanted to "fire nukes out of his hip like a gunslinger"

  • @Axgoodofdunemaul Dumber? I don't know. Immature? Definitively, but...weren't we all the same at the time?

  • With and unmanned air vehicle you could overcome the shielding, pilot, duration problems. With a gossmer flying wing and a nuclear battery, endless flight would be possible.

  • and you kud see a pilot at dark rum

my plain atomik and i make a lite by my body;)))
