You know people are stupid man!!! You're not one of them. You sont flare on the freakin' Carrier Deck to try catching the wire. Then people ask why does the front wheel go inside of the Carreir. If you played the TUTORIAL then you would know the Narriator guy said "DONT FLARE". Anyway nice freakin' landings. A least you did'nt flare to like freakin' 60 degrees.

so because you read a manual from a game that has no idea what carrier operations are like you are a expert huh, why don't you go look at some real boat traps and then look at your comment, so according to you both the front and rear gear should touch at the same time? you do understand that the whole approach and GLIDE SLOPE is really just a long flare, true glide slope is nose alpha, all you have to do is look at your approach lights all you need is the ball and monitor your lights, plus sign

I reckon the carrier LAUNCHES would be a bit more like crack. The acceleration is masive on that catapualt but the landings are good aswell, i mean it the same as the launch but in reverse.

I love the F/A-18 Super Hornet.

My dad was a pilot for the Canadian Air Force now he is a pilot for Air Canada Flying the 777-200LR and he told me when he would takeof on carriers he went from 0-180knots in 1.5 seconds.

he also told me the higest G he stood was 8

I don't know the name of the carrier. You need to down load the "aicarriers2.zip" file (just google it) in order to get the carrier in free flight.

This is a very good video showing the FSX acceleration takeoffs and landings but if you pull up on launch while your still on the carrier this makes you lose speed and your only supposed to pull up after you have the aircraft carrier.

Thanks :). The HUD overlay is simply the 2D panel for this plane. You have to push "shift + 1" to bring it up.

The most important thing is the video card...you shouldn't have any problem getting the fps you want if you have at least a a 512 MB GeForce 8600...they've really gone down in price. But if you wanna get the best, I heard the GeForce 8800 GT is down to $280. You'll be able to run DX10.

15-25 fps is fine, anything more than 26 is overkill. the main setting that impacts framerates is the weather setting on FSX try making that a bit lower and see what happens.

acceleration is an official expansion to FSX. The hornet is the only military jet. The expansion also has the P51 mustang and the EH101. You can buy it anywhere that PC games are sold.

Its the hook supposed to get hooked at the beginning of the carrier runway?...i know that its used to slow the jet down alot..but where does it hook up?...im dont really know alot about carrier landings :S

Not necesarily at the beginning of the runway. There are 4 wires stretched across the deck. The wire that hook catches depends on how far down the deck that the plane touches down. The most desireable wire to trap is the third one...that means you followed the glide slope perfectly.

I got an Intel 2.8GHz dual core, Geforce 8600GT (512 MB), 2 gigs of RAM. Oh yeah...I'm running Windows XP with the latest DirectX 9. I'm planning on upgrading to Vista soon so I can run DX10. Dunno too much about google upgrading to high res. I'll keep my ears open though.

A though just occurred to me...make sure your controls are on DEFAULT settings...I had problems with the FA-18 on custom settings but they were fixed when I changed to default control settings...

I don't understand your question...maybe you need to trim your controls while in flight...I find myself having to constantly trim when I change speed.
