Hahahaha, I remember wasting a ton of money on both this and the Captain America & The Avengers game, but it was so worth it. I remember I didn't understand why Venom was hanging around Doctor Doom as far as the story went (this was like 1992), but it was still a lot of fun. Just hated the fact that your life bar in this was essentially was a timer.

The Simpsons and The Punisher are ALSO excellent games in this genre. Turtles in Time is good too but I really do like the Super Nintendo version more.

Anyone who likes this game is too suck on nostalgia. It must've cost nearly 15 bucks back in the day to beat this fucking game cause of how many bosses they throw at you. You kill Doctor doom like 5 times and then once you think it's over, to make sure they get another 2 dollars out of you - they throw 3 or 4 Venoms at you too.

This game is fucking irritating. The characters are slow as hell, the moves are dull, they rehash the same boss at you three times per level once every two levels {you must fight Venom like 10 times before the game is over} and the "aerial" levels are shit too.

Basically, what I gathered is they needed to make money quick so they made a Final Fight style game and slapped Spiderman sprites on it.

Play the X-Men Arcade for a REAL masterpiece in the arcade world.

this game was the shit back in the day. stupid Sega should have released this for the Genesis instead of that crapfest Spidey vs Kingpin. it would be nice if there was a compilation of old-school arcade games like this one, Simpsons, X-Men, Crime City, etc on the PS3 and X-Box. at least make them downloadable games

not just that, you lose health by using your special attack and by jumping, so you lose health 3 ways, moving, jumping, and specials. so if you do all three at one you lose a heck of a amout of health.
