  • But Don, they are still arguing about who won the Civil War too.

    These people are DUMB !

  • @gregrutz Who the hell is arguing who won the Civil War? I can disperse that right now. I am an Airmen of the United States Air Force. Not an Airmen of the Confederate States Air Force.

  • @HimesInu Who the hell is arguing about evolution, not the people who study it.

  • DonExodus, you sir, are my hero

  • i agree if we teach creationism then we HAVE to teach alchemy

  • The north won the civil war thats factual, But the issue over there being a Creator is controversial you cant "prove" it or "disprove" it. This video is rather biased. There are more atheists and believers that support the "teach both" clause than there are against in.

  • ..... oh boy your a little off base animan360. Evolution does not have anything to do with there being a creator. If you were listening the only thing evolution says is that a literal interpretation of the bible makes no sense.

Also can you point to your "proof" that the majority of atheists and believers want schools to "teach both". Because I'm positive you made that up without knowing what you were talking about.

Should we also teach both chemistry and alchemy and let the kids decide?

  • @spacewolf5462 I never said evolution has anything to do with there being a creator. But this video claims it does. thats what i was talking about. Next time dont assume.

  • @animan360

lol, really? Your defense is to say that the video says that evolution and a creator are in conflict. You realize that anyone who has watched the video knows this is false. The only thing evolution has to say about the bible is that a literal interpretation is not correct and thats it.

You also decided to ignore my question. So again show me anywhere where atheists and theists both agree that we should "teach both". Or you can just admit that you made it up and were wrong.

  • @spacewolf5462 This video is a rebuttal against people who have said they should teach both, theres your proof about when people have agreed to teach both. I believe in evolution being a natural process of life, however i dont believe the anyone knows how the universe came into being, although i do believe God had his hand in it. Or it may be everyone is viewing this world completely wrong and we dont have the capacity to understand it all. Thus the need and desire for a creator.

  • @animan360- ....... man you really missed the point of my question. You stated and I quote:

"There are more atheists and believers that support the "teach both" clause than there are against in"

I was merely pointing out that you have no basis in your claim that "more" atheists and believers think we should teach both. I was never asking if anyone thought we should teach both. Just admit that you made that up, and you have no idea if the majority of people think we should teach both.

  • vote bot :(

  • My kid always chooses the beer for some reason.

  • Good video, bible has the scientific merit of the LoTR series.

  • I won the civil war.

  • Is that 99.98% of all scientists or just biologists

  • Bio

  • Thanks, this is probably taking a narrow definition of Scientist or biologist right.

  • Yes, its the opinions of those qualified to make them lol.

  • evolution is a field of biology- for example a computer scientist would not understand why Long Terminal Repeats showing nested hierarchy of mutations prove evolution.

Also its not just biologists, its life scientists which includes geologists as well.

  • Im screenshotting this comment. Stupid has a new face.

  • @DonExodus2 Don, if you don't use this in a video (if you have I would love the link), you are wasting a flawless opportunity.

  • Would you teach astrology in an astrophyics class. Would you teach alchemy in a chemistry class. These things have not been shown to be on equal grounds. If creation scientists can provide evidence for there Hypostasis, publish papers for peer review and these hold up against criticism by the experts then creationism can be taught alongside evolution. This wont happen because the idea is bogus.

  • The laws of thermodynamics only apply to closed systems. That argument is weapons-grade fail.

Creationism is not a science. It cannot be objectively falsified or tested. It has no supporting evidence outside of bronze age religious documents that are riddled with scientific and historical errors.

Evolution does have conditions that would falsify it, though they've never been met. It has mountains of supporting evidence across several scientific fields of study.

    Fossils, win, etc. ^_^

  • Went against the laws of thermodynamics?

    Two words...

    The Sun.

Honestly, the thermodynamics argument would mean my room can't be cleaned, nor can water freeze. It's utterly bunk. At least try taking a course in thermochem before you use terminology you don't understand.

  • Intolerant of Christianity? No, I'm quite tolerant of the religion, just not of creationism. In fact for all you know I could be religious just like Ken Miller or DonExodus2, I just dislike when creationists LIE about the evidence and make absurd claims from absolutely no knowledge basis. You're right, it's my eternity, but because lying is a deadly sin, you're going to hell with me.

  • The pope, ken miller, donexodus and most of the christian world would tend to disagree with you, they've found no problem being christian AND believing in evolution.

And enlighten me, what do biologists lie about? Remember also the hoaxes were pointed out by biologists themselves. But how are endogenous retroviral DNA or the prediction then confirmation of a chromosomal fusion lies?

  • Doesn't work that way, you made the claim "evolutionists lie" and so it's your responsibility to back it up. The flaw comes from me working fruitlessly to find straw men, I'm not doing your work for you, you made the claim, it's your responsibility or else you're just being intellectually dishonest (big surprise). Tell me though, you're aware I have had university experience with evolution, how much research have you done? How are DIK-1, AL 288, STS 71, KNM ER 1813, etc all lies?

  • Take it up with a theologian, though do know that the majority of educated christians in the world do accept evolution, that includes theologians, meaning clearly there are ways around your perceived flaw. Ways that actually don't disagree with the evidence.

  • The irony is simply delicious. You still made the claim, regardless of the reason failing to back it up is intellectua dishonesty. Furthermore, I can actually be convinced, you simply need to provide contradictory empirical evidence... easier said than done, but most certainly possible. The true irony comes with you calling me "intolerant little biased wretch" when absolutely nothing, and I mean nothing, will ever be enough to convince you of the validity of evolution. The pot and the kettle.

  • Notice how dct3te called YOU intolerant and yet he's calling every evolution supporter a liar, fool, and closed-minded. He's such a fucking hypocrite. Anyway, you handled him well.

  • "As I stated before, I'M NOT DEBATING OVER A MESSAGE BOARD. It's useless, because when it's all said and done, you'll be the same person you were when this all started. You'll still be the intolerant, little biased wretch that you have always been."

This would actually make sense if you are referring to yourself or other young earth creationists.

"Claiming to be wise, they instead became utter fools."

Yup. Look at Kent Hovind: he thought he was wise. Now, he's in prison for being foolish :)

  • dc3te you think your ise your a fool

  • Were exactly does the Bible state that sin needs to come before death?

My interpretation = Adam and Eve were the first humans to be given a conscience. Therefore, sin came first before their death. Simple right?

Not only that, but the Bible is not supposed to be taken literally. For example, who did Cain marry when he left to the land of Nod?

  • I dont believe in god,the bible or any of that BS, but I still enjoy these vids

  • To make this argument VERY simple, I am going to say that evolution is completely false.

Now where is the evidence for Creationism?

  • Hah! I like.

  • Information only comes from a designer.

  • Think about how wonderful thatd be. Perhaps the saying "To really start protecting yourself against quackery, you gotta learn it first" would sum this up best.

  • should we use legal force to stop the majorities views. INFACT wer doing double harm. Creationists luckily are not saying that only creation be taught and evolution banned completely like many sunni/shia "Islamic" countries did. If we allowed creatiosm to be taught at school alongside evolution the children would ultimately recognize the truth themsleves and MOREOVER would also take note of the absurdities in creationism and thus even convince more of the creation camp to accept evolution.

  • ...Now how absurd this may seem but should the majority even make it legal for kids of a what is currently considered a young age be allowed to consume alcoholic beverages THEN WE AS A MINORITY CANNOT AND MUST NOT USE VIOLENCE to retract that. This is a very important point. YES again we can debate but not take up arms. Same goes with creationism. It doesnt matter how absurd we know it is. If thts wht the majority wants to be taught alongside evolution we need to accept otherwise thered be RIOTS

  • 1st i fully accept evolution. Initially i thought the same that creationism must not be taught alongside with evolution to kids. However i have to realize that no matter how much emprical evidence THERE ALWAYS REMAINS THE RELATIVITY OF WHAT IS ACCEPTED AS EVIDENCE. Hence whatever themajority agrees upon must be allowed to pass. We must however have the full right of speech to convince them of the other side and im fully confident that the truth will stand out clear...

  • You keep forgetting the Electricity theory, yet we all use a PC (or MAC) to view this. I've yet to meet someone to disagree on the theory of Electricity, but I met plenty who disagree on Evolution.

  • Macs are still personal computers, even modern game consoles are personal computers in a fancy, standardized boxes. So yes, we are all viewing this on a PC.

  • If I hadn't mentioned the MACs, some apple fanboys would have torn me apart. Just kidding.

  • "DonExodus2, this is the second video i hear you insinuate that evolution is proven empirically. what evidence do you have for this?"

see the rest of his vids.

  • RAmen

  • My thoughts exactly. well done.

  • When you said (GOD gave us our intellectual maturity). I'm asking you, which god ? But I made a writing mistake with my "witch". Anyway, forget it, you're a believer and I'm not and I was just teasing you. Have a nice day.

  • Gotcha lol :P Im addressing Creationists, who are largely Christian. As such, Im using their rationale, and using it against them to demonstrate my point.

But yes, your point is valid, and I understand that. If I was making this video addressing Zeus-ists, I would be referring to Zeus giving us our intellect :P

  • It's a GOD who gave us our intellectual maturity ? Hmm ... Witch one ?

    regards

  • ???

  • good points. i really liked your analogy of letting the kid decide between evolution and ID = letting the kid choose between water and beer. so true

  • Dude, everyone knows Jesutrons are real. That's like one of the first things you learn in creation science. Great video.
