  • I wonder how loud you had the amp turned up? I ask because I've played through both of those speakers also and I think they're both great speakers, but the Celestions can only handle 20 watts, the Scumback can handle 65 watts in that version. I notice that when I play loud at band volume or louder the Celestion Heritages will compress quickly and be about to blow if you don't run through at least four of them at one time, whereas the Scumback at loud volumes stays clear, doesn't fart out early

  • @acdckisszeppelin

I'm only a home player, and I cannot play at band volume.

It's rightful that amps and speakers will not sound the same at higher volume. Nevertheless, and even with YT audio compression, the differences in tone and grit are audible.

  • Give me the Celestions any day.....the webers sound uhh.

  • probably should invest in a tuner

  • @supafly1954 Sorry for your ears, I admit there's an issue on my cheap LP screwed neck, G and B strings are often detuned (+ or -). I'd rather invest in a new neck for I guess the nut slot is guilty (I just swapped the nut few days ago, issue remains).

  • Thanks, great demo. I'm preferring the GB's. Scumback highs sound kinda fizzy to me.

  • I like GB at 6:21 vs 6:49

  • @olcottke Me too.
