no mames!!! eric clapton el 4 mejor guitarrista de la historia esta viejisimo!!!!!!!!! ... me quede con su impresion de su MTV umplugged... jajaja =) todo una leyenda =)
Hey man, sorry, didn't mean to sound like a know-all, I've been obsessed with L5s since the late 1950s. Had a few Gibbos, still have at Gibson Country Gent, but never one quite like ECs guitar. Be glad you're not a total saddo like me!!!
No, its a mid 50s custom one pickup L5, and thats a staple pickup with the rectangular pole pieces. Chet Atkins models are thin (1.75" thick) and two pickup, except for the Super 4000 Chet model which had a floting pickup and super 400 inlays, but also v thin.
I think it's great that Clapton plays this old blues/jazz songs. Great songs with a great feel and tone. I personally think it's kind of lame that someone in his 60's still tries to be a guitargod. People of his age and skills should go back to the roots, and Clapton understands that.
@MrPieterWittenberg they 'should' not! they just choose to! we all come full circle eventually! but he can still play better than most on their best day, and does when he feels like it!!!
@MrPieterWittenberg i personally think that clapton can do what he wants with his life and if he still playin' rock or some "guitar god" music i will respect him, he is not obligated to follow the standard way of musicians by takin his music to the roots...
also i love this song and i think that he should make a cd with Buddy .)
@MrPieterWittenberg There are MANY famous musicians that play in their 60s, 70's heck Tony Bennet of 3 generations ago is in his 80's and singing still! Good for them!
i find it wonderful to see clapton on a gibson again

remember this song was not that he was who composed the first to sing this song was Fats Waller

Sounds like they hired the drummer from the local Salvation Army band. Other than that, suprisingly charming.

great, and what a beautiful guitar! I wonder if it's the same he played on the chuck berry 60th birthday concert

Looks like a Gibson L-5 with a single P90 pickup. The Chuck Berry guitar was a Gibson ES350

Eric's vocals and guitar sound refreshing on this track. Great to see Dave Bronze on double bass along side Eric - superb bass tone and playing.
