Hey man, sorry, didn't mean to sound like a know-all, I've been obsessed with L5s since the late 1950s. Had a few Gibbos, still have at Gibson Country Gent, but never one quite like ECs guitar. Be glad you're not a total saddo like me!!!

No, its a mid 50s custom one pickup L5, and thats a staple pickup with the rectangular pole pieces. Chet Atkins models are thin (1.75" thick) and two pickup, except for the Super 4000 Chet model which had a floting pickup and super 400 inlays, but also v thin.

Looks like a Gibson L-5 with a single P90 pickup. The Chuck Berry guitar was a Gibson ES350

I think it's great that Clapton plays this old blues/jazz songs. Great songs with a great feel and tone. I personally think it's kind of lame that someone in his 60's still tries to be a guitargod. People of his age and skills should go back to the roots, and Clapton understands that.

I still wish Clapton made a cd with Buddy Guy...
