Did you visit small villages (not in central)?they are different compared to central Udon.there are nice people there.

There's a minigolf/bar - can't remember the name - on the main street along the beach in Pattaya. I believe it is located around soi 10, 11, 12 - I don't know. There is a little glass hut where you book the trip right in the bar.

G'day mate, you are right about Udon Thani being relaxed, I have spent 4 weeks there very recently (11/08) and will be relocating permantley from over regulated Australia to the Ban Chiang Pin in Feb 09. I like you saw few tourists but there are a few westerners living there!

My lady says that she is "prominent" as I am the first farang in the community of 1700 people and she has lived there all of her 45 years! The whole village is peacefull and friendly, just the place for an early retirement
