@indurnuguri1 I believe there there is an Iranian GM Ehsan Ghaem Maghami who holds the world title for simultanious games something like 600 ! can you beat that ? ok now i will be acepting your apolagy in writing and make sure you research before your prejudices before you type next time !
@mcpartridgeboy -- before asking anything from me, ask that person about what he wrote about Anand. If he considers Anand himself a boring and unspectacular then should I count the one you mentioned? There is nothing about prejudice here, since he was damning Anand, I thought he might have add great GMs from his country itself. I also remember there was one GM(may be the guy you have mentioned above) from Iran who refused to play against an Israeli GM.
@indurnuguri1 anand is boring and his play is also boring, the Iranian gm who refused to play an Israeli is totally right, would you or the israeli play against a Nazi ? well then why is an Iranian expected to play an Israeli, if it was up to me id ban ALL israelis from ALL sports, games, and the arts, if a country has no regard for law or life they shouldnt be allowed to compete in the game of chess, they just drag thee game down to their murderous level.
Not sure, what a particular sportsmen got to do with the state. Even North Korea's sportsmen were allowed to participate in FIFA world cup. So, I guess we should separate sports and politics. Anyway, it is your opinion and I will leave at that and I don't like arguments.
Watch some of Anand's memorable games(you can get in a DVD presented by Anand) and you will see anything but boring. True, Anand has become conservative in tournament play after he became World Champion in 2008 but his play in WC is very tactical and aggressive. Did you watch his super sharp meran variation against Kramnik in WC. Even, Rybka indicated that Anand's games some of the most tactically oriented games among the pantheon of world champions.
Why is there a womens chess championship? It's not like men are in favor like in physical sports. I really don't get why women should have an separte championship. The're having the same chances of winning or becoming good at the game. I also don't get why there aren't any "famous" female chess like players like Bobby Fisher or Garry Kasparov or Anatoly Karpov. If someone has an explanition for this, please share!
@koetjesreep123456789 women are not fanatical about defeating an opponent to spend hours and hours of preparation plotting the destruction of the adversary.
@iorixs I still don't get why there is a female championship though. If they are going to participate in such an event they have to prepare themselves also, don't they? I think it's really strange there are so many women fighting for "equalniss" between man and woman, but in chess they seem to be "weaker" than men. I'm not trying to discriminate women or something like that but this is odd to me. Chess is a perfect way to show men and women are equal but women don't seem to be able ot proof this
@koetjesreep123456789 Because, like iorixs says, there is a different mindset involved. Men are naturally more aggressive "hunter gatherer" types and have greater access, typically, to that hemisphere of the brain. Add that to nurture and culture and men could be said to have an automatic edge in chess, much in the same way women are said to have an edge in raising children. Also, women haven't proved equal because there's a much smaller pool of possible champions. They're not as interested.
jerry please post the game notation also as you post in your first game for our more better analysis.please do it we find it really compulsory for better analysis.
Very good game by Black. Willing to take risks for a win. Really adventurous approach and that white squared B was a monster. Look forward to your other vids of the match.
Hou was last year's champ, I want the underdog to win. But I have to say, Hou's game has impressed me. I have seen neither play before this series, but she seems the stronger player.
3 chess news 1. armenia has made chess compulsory in school for 8- 12 year olds ! . 2 . Anand is the most boring ( lack of charisma in personality and games ) world champion in living memory 3. knight in all chess programmes is facing to the left .
FIDE should make Hou Yi-Fan play men only. She is too good for the women players and shouldn't be beating them up like that!

In the variation at 7:20 the variation would be good for black because the b can defend on e 6... In my opinion

after black plays her queen to b2 why didn't white challange it with rc2 which prevents the later idea of black pressuring the g2 square?
also, in the opening, after white plays ne5 why didn't black play qxa2?

why did the white bishop go to a4 it could have as well gone to a8 and still being able to watch over the passed pawn should it be pushed.
