I think everything was still so new in the 80's. Computers were just starting to come into the home, Apple IIe, 286 computers, Commodore 64, video was still king, special effects were Nintendo was replacing Atari. There was still a sense of discovery. Now everything is recycled. Trends that were new when I was young are just coming back around. The music was our own too, it was definitely 80's. Everything now is bland. There's nothing to get excited about anymore.

As an native East Coaster who lived in California for a while, it's interesting to me that some of the words used by Run-DMC lasted a lot longer than some of the words the girls on the beach were using. Never heard of some of those, (uh, scrog?) but I'm still chillin' over here.

I lived through the 70s and 80s, It was my PRIME, now my kids are living them, except they think all that music is new. I keep saying that one was original in the FORTIES, done in the sixties, eighties and NOW again its "new?"
