I think everything was still so new in the 80's. Computers were just starting to come into the home, Apple IIe, 286 computers, Commodore 64, video was still king, special effects were Nintendo was replacing Atari. There was still a sense of discovery. Now everything is recycled. Trends that were new when I was young are just coming back around. The music was our own too, it was definitely 80's. Everything now is bland. There's nothing to get excited about anymore.
@TheRockandroll420 I used to think it was just nostalgia making me like the 70s and 80s so much, but when I see young kids like yourself detesting this millenium I think it's just reality sinking in. It really does suck now!
As an native East Coaster who lived in California for a while, it's interesting to me that some of the words used by Run-DMC lasted a lot longer than some of the words the girls on the beach were using. Never heard of some of those, (uh, scrog?) but I'm still chillin' over here.
I lived through the 70s and 80s, It was my PRIME, now my kids are living them, except they think all that music is new. I keep saying that one was original in the FORTIES, done in the sixties, eighties and NOW again its "new?"
One thing wrong with the 80's was mtv banning a Megadeth video. Honey I shrunk the kids was a big mistake. I hate disney and love my Megadeth videos uncut on youtube.
I remember watching MTV every day back in the early 1980's. That's when they actually played music video and didn't have stupid shows on there like today.
The new generation has lost all sense of imagination. The more sex that's pounded into their skulls, the better it seems for them. Is the use of the brain becoming a thing falling by the wayside? Technology is doing thinking for them. I didn't envision my kids living in this kind of world; it's a pity.
@666Angelfuck its kind of already coming back .. snap back hats ? colorful watches? bright nikes? the music on the radio has so much of an 80s electronic vibe to it .. my band plays new wave pop rock.. but i still think its coming back .. THE 80S ARE MAKING A COMEBACK
Awesome Dude!, Rad Radical Whats up Totally Cool man.Lets chill...Lol...Far out man!..
I miss the 80's Slang now its? What?..The 80's slang rocked..Kids today have a problem with talking to there parents so they let it out on other people..Sad..
@X7393 I agree! In my opinion, today, it's "Peace! We outta' here!," or "Yo homie!," or "Yo, dog!," or "Give it up for....!," or "Big shout out to...!" What kind of talk is THAT?! NO WONDER today's generation have trouble getting a job or, like you said, "getting along with family and society!"
