  • Features in the film Weekend. Really sweet tune.

  • aMAZING!

  • A natural talent here that cannot be acquired or learnt. Beautiful soulful singing and a gorgeous song. No need for a big light show or big backing sound (as in X factor etc.). The talent does it all. Absolutely gorgeous. Thanks for the post.

  • Such feeling in this song. I'm a drummer so none too smart and was wondering if anyone could tell me exactly what the song is about?

I actually prefer the official video as the synth work on Jools Holland was too cheesy for me.

  • @Grizzbiz57 Apparently Marz was an ice cream parlour he went to as a child/teenager? - the lyrics are all the flavours they had to offer.

  • @TheNevan60 Hmm. I thought it was deeper than that. Mars being the euphemism for an afterlife where he is reunited with lost loved ones. 'Meet you under the light" adds credence to my theory or maybe I'm over thinking the whole deal. Bloody great chord progression and melody line. I'm hooked.

  • @Grizzbiz57 Yeah, I could've done without that synth!

  • Great song,great voice...That's all.

  • I found Grant's voice and songs in my mirror. Brilliant

  • can't get the lyrics ......

  • Great song - and this version is better than the 'official clip' one. Clip is a bit dodgy looking, tho i haven't watched all of it!

  • great great song and voice

  • Stunning. I'm going to see Mr. Grant playing live on Friday and I can't wait :o)

  • yup one diabetic just watched .low sugar content!!

  • I wanna go to marz now!

  • simple but excellent

  • Wow, there is no negative votes. 0 diabetics had watched this video =)

  • @PAGAFER i am diabetic... We are watching it, its just it's an awesome song...

  • Casey Chandler on piano???

    aka Galapaghost??

  • Beautiful song. Beautiful bloke. Beautiful soul.

  • I don't comment often... but this is incredible.

  • i really like this man hes a fab singer/songwriter i could listen to him 27/7 !!

  • he was, without a doubt, the best thing I saw at glastonbury this year . His set was incredible!

  • @anddyx ur a sad sad individual , i truly feel sorry for you, such a distorted view

  • what a stupid nonsense song, totally meaningless..

  • @anddyx It's a song about a sweet shop he used to live near.

  • @anddyx So does that mean that instrumental music is pointless too? Just because the words fit and the melody does too does not equal pointless. The voice is only an instrument and words happen to be what people like to make.......!? I don't get your point at all. Also its meaningless to you because you probably could not write and did not write it.........as pointed out above its about a sweet shop.....maybe it makes more sense now?

  • @jabeoo1 I was referring to the actual lack of poignancy in the song to evoke such a strong feeling of "I want to go to Marz" even though it's a sweet shop. It could be a tin of cat food he's singing about, I don't care, but I just don't get the pointlessness of it. We've all had memories.

  • @anddyx just gotta let urself go man, if it makes u feel good aint that the whole point. when u were a kid i bet u sang abt a bunch of nonsense and had the time of ur life :)

  • @otisrip yeah, but he's a man singing about childhood. Oooh, makes you wonder what else.

  • @anddyx think ur overthinking this one just a little mate

  • @anddyx It's not even about the sweet shop, it's about pining for a lost youth, all the lyrics are the flavors of sundaes that the shop would make. It's in the same genre as something like puff the magic dragon. Childhood is full of nonsensical, amazing and fantastic things and everything appears so fresh and new and exciting as a child and it's over all too quick and songs like this are simply a way to try and claw back a sliver of that.

  • @nekogod Ooh but he's a grown man. Makes you wonder what else he's thinking about. Gary Glitter had songs about being in "my gang".

  • @anddyx lol, next you'll be sayin if u play it backwards theres a hidden msg. enjoy the music or dont its cool either way

  • @otisrip Ooh, get you. Well that's my opinion. Maybe you like that too.

  • @anddyx

meh, im not gonna virtually bash you like everybody else but im just wondering 100% purely curious....why don't you like it?

  • Its a musical classic... nothing less...

  • If i ever go to marz, i'd get a lucky monday.
