  • just like all bodybuilders..complete luck of grip.All these isolation moves,strict reps, targeting one muscle group at the time will never bring you strength period. Heavy compound movements, no straps,.that's the way to go. The only functional strength athletes are in world strongest man competitions or olympic weghtlifter. Bodybuilding is just fake. 99% of bodybuilders are midgets with T-Rex arms and laughable bodyweights. An average strong man competitor is 6'6" tall, 350 pounds of raw power.

  • what exactly is your problem doing shrugs? Just try to touch your ears with your shoulders. maybe you should try without weight at first.

  • There are subtle variations, as with every exercise. If you want peak contractions, tuck your chin and pull up and back. You'll notice that your neck is out of the way and allows a larger and fuller range of motion. I personally seem to grow with the super-heavy sets of 12 with fast reps straight up n down with no neck tilt.

    If you add 100 pounds to your Deadlift, you'll probably be able to shrug more.
