That scene where her father was in the store talking to her about tampons was just gross and stupid. My sister grew up with a single dad and he never said anything to her about it. She had friends the same ages as her from school who would hang out with her and talk about these things.
I just finished watching this movie and it's amazing. There are still so many questions going through my head. The end was ehhh, but overall I loved it.
I read the book and saw it on HBO. It had a lot of layers (race, sexuality, images in the eyes of Jasira etc.). Great underrated performances from Summer Bishil, Aaron Eckhart, and Toni Colette.
Some girls r just sluts but a lot of girls that act the way she did in this movie was because they were sexual abused or taken advantage of when they were younng by an older guy
I just finished watching it and it was a great movie Im sure many can relate to it as I do since it portrays many issues that surround us. Loved how after all it does'nt show aaron eckards character as a bad man... It doesnt pick a side, just shows everyone's point of view
it was a good movie. When i first saw the trailer i didnt think it would be as heavy as it was. I especially didnt think the dad was going to be like he was. it was really good though.
She doesn't look Lebanese, and Jasira IS NOT a Lebanese name, we don't have desert in Lebanon, nor towelheads, plus, we do not ride camels! haha these stereotypes make me feel sick, seriously.
i loved it! just seen it like a hour ago and wanted to see the reviews and how people felt about it and I knew some of them would act like it was the most disturbing thing ever.... well u shouldnt of watched it. the movie says that it is very disturbing but when you think about it alot of young girls actually go through these things... so it was a real eye opener for everyone who doesnt really understand.

no body freakin watch it. i saw it last night and not only did i hate it but it was sick. i'm a dude and i didn't want to see that crap. It's for parents with girls to see. This trailer makes it out to be a funny movie. That movie was the complete opposite of funny. Sick Sick And down right sick! Dudes don't see it and girls .... i couldn't give a crap
Quit taking things so personally. Geez. Why do people like you get so bent over words? Political correctness is a joke, and so are your stupid hurt feelings.
Actually, the name was changed *from* "Towelhead" *to* "Nothing is Private." "Towelhead" is the name of the novel the film is based on, written by an Egyptian-American, so it was not meant as an ethnic slur. Unfortunately, in the divided world we live in, irony is dead. So, they had to change the name of the movie.
Actually I know many Arabs & Muslims i have been working in Saudi for nine years they are really suave & proad minded ,, i think that this trailer is maltreating them coz they're nice and urban not as portrayed there
This movie isn't about Saudi's or muslims. It's based on a novel by the same name, and is semi-autobiographical. The author chose a Christian Lebanese family, basically because it was similar to her Egyptian Christian father and her own background.
The book is beyond amazing. I read it twice a few years ago and have been meaning to pick it back up. I hope this movie isn't a let down, since I'm sure they can't go into as much detail sexually as the book did.
I just finished reading the book, and I'm totally pumped to watch this movie with some friends. The book really surprised me, especially the fact that she didn't wear a hijab, nor was she muslim, yet the hicks next door and at school called her "towelhead"--that's like calling Kim Kardisian, or someone like that, a racial epithet.
Anyway, Lebenon's an awesome country. I hope the US backed army and Hezbollah stop fighting, and I REALLY hope Israel stops occupying its territory.
