But, I guess being chased by a guy with a chainsaw would make me keep running for longer but I eventually will start hurting and couldn't do it anymore!
Yeah, I'd be dead! In High School When I ran around the track in gym class I only made it about 20-25 seconds before stopping to walk because I was already out of breath. LOL
In my opinion, Marilyn must've REALLY got a HECK OF A WORKOUT-pushing Frankin's wheelchair through the woods like that! So much for "going to the gym" and pushing weights, huh?
This is quite possibly my favourite horror chase ever. Sally actually seems like she wants to escape, and Leatherface is RIGHT BEHIND HER the entire time.
I find this one way more realistic then the 2003 remarke. it seems like a real chase, in the remake the chainsaw killer makes me think of jason, desappear. appear suddently and kill easly.
That's actually a good idea, no way out slam yourself into a window and HOPE it breaks. Lucky for Sally it did, but seriously thats what i would do, she just leaped right through take one for the team,
I love this chase scene, im a huge fan of nicely done chase scenes. This one has to be on my top 5. Next to Halloween, Friday the 13th part 2, Curtains, and scream
she is genuinely scared.. I guess this was 1st scene they did and she never saw leatherface before or met the character.. so she was REALLY scared and REALLY was running lol
LOL does anyone else notice that when Sally runs out the room with the old people, she knocks over that mummified dog and it just rolls over. "Roll over boy!"
@MaxHermansen I don't know which is scarier-being killed/stabbed in the shower by Norman (Bate's) "mother" or being chased by an autistic, overweight nutcase with a chainsaw? In my opinion, knowing how much running Sally had to do to avoid Leatherface, she probably would've made the US Olympic team lol!
ok for some reason the chase scene reminds me of the one in the last house on the left(1972) chase scene i douno mabey the way scense were shot in the early 70s i douno dose any body agree with me??
@1AeroForce1 Okay, that's your opinion. so why did you like the remake better? I LOVED the original, it was twisted, crazy and disturbing all at the same time. I thought the remake was just gore.
@LightCameraAaron, The deaths where more power-full, I thought the orignal was kinda corny and I liked the characters more in this one.....thanks for respecting my opinion though! :D
No problem! I hate when people get all mad about someone's opinion. There is no right or wrong answer. I will admit though, I LOVED the music in the remake. =-)
Jessica Biel is hot and all and they really cast someone with the same type of looks, but you've got to consider that Marilyn Burns is pretty amazing and it's from the days before plastic, cosmetic surgery, and I'm sure she's wearing less makeup....just check her out in the first half of the movie, before she gets all sweaty and bloody. :-)
Plastic and cosmetic surgery has been around since the 40's but was kept "hush hush" because plastic surgeons up until 25 years ago, were considered to be the lowlifes of the medical profession and looney and untrustworthy. The first boob implants were done in the early 60's but alot of women would shy away from plastic surgery back then.... nowadays, even girls who are already naturally beautiful want bigger boobs and lipo suction.
You know I now realize why alot of people are so scared of this movie and why so many people like it better then the remake......4 some reason the Original Texas Chainsaw Massacre seems real.....like your watching real footage? The remake looks like a movie.....Jessica Biel didn't look like she had went through anything at the end of the remake......on this one Sally looks like shez been through hell! I love this movie!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
chainsaws are like 16 lbs tops dude, the particular one he's got, a poulan 306a only happens to be about 12 pounds. its heavy but he handled it with ease.
Perfect example of why the original was so great. It was disturbing without having to show you everything. The graphic nature of the violence was effectively implied rather than showing you every gory detail.
the "chase" scene in the original was A LOT better than that of the remake... the remake, it was shorter and not as scary and when it did start to get a little tense, it ended. both movies were good but both have there own good points and bad.
wow...for the best scene in the movie, that friggen sucked. Just pack up a documentary and like police footage and thats a shit load better than the movies probably were
wwoooo damn, wouldnt like to be her. DAMN the adrenaline would be too intense HOT DIGGITY. But, im a fast runner, i have lots of stamina, the fat leatherface has barely, how the f*** can he run that long
i love this movie too! and out of the two girls, im glad sally survived because of her pretty hair....lol....but one question is all i have for the costume department....why was this girl wearing SANDALS???!!! in a chase scene?!?!? sneakers would have been more approprate!
Oh when Leatherface jabs his chainsaw into Franklin's torso, all you hear is the sound becoming muffled. That's all I needed to be convinced.
"I found suggestion to be a much more effective instrument in evoking terror than the explicit. Because, after all, ketchup is ketchup. And if you leave that kind of image to the imagination, you come up with a much more spicy specimen." - Robert Bloch (author of "PSYCHO")
Kind of scary...but where does the real horror in the movie come from? The problem is, if you already know from reading the synopsis that she is going to survive, what is really horrific? This isn't a criticism, more just a question. Perhaps I just don't get easily scared, I generally find supernatural stuff worse than pyschotic serial killers, for whatever reason.
Has anyone else noticed the scene in the forest where Sally is lost and she starts spinning around on the spot is from Disney's Snow White!! Check it out! Tobe Hopper = Clever guy!

aahh man things were getting good at the end i would be scared as hell if he was chasing me i would be like let me help you kill the people you want dead
5:49-6:07, This is the best part of the chase scene and maybe any chase scene EVER!! Leatherface is really close and his massive frame dwarfs hers, shes tired, injured and its really getting suspensful! Unfortunatley, Leatherface is retarded and really doesn't seem like hes know what do during the earlier parts like at the house.
she coulda died, imagine her adrenaline is so high she's fell from a two story house and she's getting chased by a chainsaw holding maniac and she watched that guy die...
turn off the sound on this video and play " The Entertainer " in the background instead. Makes this clip so much better.
