Tippmann Alpha Black Paintball Review

I have the Tippmann X7 (not Phenom) and I just upgraded it recently to look like a UMP .45 but with a 14" CP tactical assult barrel instead of short 10" (still looks fucking sick haha!). But I've held this gun and it feels great in my hands for some reason and I like the trigger and everything. I still want one of these and see how they do. They seem to do pretty well and I keep hearing that people have hardly had any problems with them even though they were made in China. Sweet gun bro.

this is gun is great I own one, I've had nooo problems it shoots great and is pretty damn accurate over a nice range. I suggest getting a 14 inch or 16 inch barrel for even better performance. The gun does get heavy after 7 straight hours of playing but thats when I use my 20 oz bottle it's actually kind of light with the 9 oz bottles. Over all great gun especially for the entry level price.

It's great. I never had a problem with it. It's a bit heavy i guess, but that's about it. Get a longer barrel, and you'll be fine.

its a really good gun in my opinion i've got one as well as he said even though it comes stock with a 10/11 inch barrel its dead accurate. worth buying hope i helped.

@okamokapoka1 honestly i dont think you should buy it. i have one 3 inches from me know and i love it. i just think that if your going to upgrade then get like an icon x or something cheaper. but if its going to be your only gun then by all means buy it.

@okamokapoka1 Its a licensed replica of a M16. Weight is the exact same when the canister is remotely coiled. Its one of the best and most durable markers! They use it for training military in tactical situations :)

Im new to paintball, but i wanted a gun that looks like the real guns (i mean the metal bullets one) :P ...though my issue was this. Do i need that feeder and a tank?

I know you may say that you may use the clip instead of the feeder, but will i still have lets say 40 paint average?

And if anyone can, what weapon is suggested that reaches my requirements above and its quite good?

I found the same problem with my gun. I wanted it to look alot smaller, and feel much more real. What i did was invest in a vest, and a remote coil. Takes the tank off of the gun, and it feels great. I made some 5 round holders, as you can see in the video, and they did great. This isnt a great idea for someone who shoots alot, but if you pick your shots wisely, 5 round clips are enough.

The Alpha Black is a great gun for woodsball. Those who don't like using the stock barrel, I would suggest trying the APEX. I use the APEX on the Alpha Black and 98 Custom

my brother has this gun and its nice, it doesnt jam that much i found out that if you put your finger by the cocking handle when you shoot, it does 2 and 3 shot bursts!!!!

i used this gun the first time i went paintballing, it was very hard to handle lol. it was very hard to aim with the helmet on, so i just took cover and raised it up and shot randomly to scare the enemy :) it also jams to often. it jammed 4 times on me in 6 games.

If you mean that, then you cant just go buy one, tippmann series rifles come with it already :( You may be able to dremel your gun to make one fit, but its not worth the trouble.

I would take bravo 1. 98 custom can be better than the bravo 1, but it needs alot of customizing. Right out of the store, a plain 98 custom costs the same as a tatical edition bravo 1, so if you want to make your 98 look cool, it will cost about 100 bucks. Bravo 1 worked awesome for me.

Yea, kick and recoil are the same thing... But, anway, Myspottech and Coolguy506, you are both correct in a way. A paintball gun is very inacurate, as Myspottech says, but yes, a bit of recoil can ruin a shot, but you will never get single shot kills in paintball.. Well, that depends how far you are away from your target, but not an exaggeration by all means. Paintball markers can be compared in accuracy and have a great difference in consistency comparing a high and low end marker. You also admit a large flaw in Tippmann production, the integration of inline sights while blatantly ignoring the fact that the hopper sticks out like a target.

Vibration and kick make up a large portion of how accurate the marker is. I would say more-so than the barrel. A half centimeter of kick or vibration means your shot is off by several feet.

you need to get a M16 weaver rail, which is just a rail attachment that goes on top of the carry handle. That's the only way because the carry handle is non removable on this.

Ok this is a relly good gun, The gun is $130-180 depends where u get it it is extremly accurate, its relly easy to clean. Ive probable shot almost 10000 paintballs out of mine and choped maby 3 I love it its an amazing gun if your on a $200 budget, and love to play woodsball, by this gun!

I've been playing for a long time and I personally think tippmann makes some of the best guns out there. Sure theres people who like paying shitloads of cash for little speedball guns but if you want a gun with awesome customization avalible, great durability and performance grab a tippmann.

"Shit loads of cash" on speedball guns? Tippmanns, for what you get, are extremely overpriced. The only reason I can see anyone buying a Tippmann is for use in a scenario game. Although I have no idea why you would be playing paintball if you cared that much about looks over performance, airsoft would be much more preferable. Durability is no better than any other paintball gun, the performance is not comparable to a decent speedball gun.

They aren't overpriced, just expensive. You get every penny's worth in attention to detail. I don't care about speed either. Just from the lack of kick/vibration, the speedball gun would be MUCH more accurate than the A5.

Whatever man.. like I said I don't really care, I like my gun, it performs just the way I want. I can customize it to fit my needs even more and it can take a lot of punishment on the field. I personally think tippmann guns are really nice. They can hit targets with decent accuracy, don't really need pin point accuracy on a large target of some guy..
