It is funny to me, that so many people thinks there should be no Fifth gear. I too, like Top Gear more. But Fifth Gear is still better than anything available in the US that I have found. So Either watch it or don't, just be glad you have the choice between several auto shows.

Also some companys use diffrent amounts of fuel in the tank. Some people take engines to the 'redline' and loose time as they should already be in the next gear. Think about it...there's too many variables. How long is a piece of string?....however long you want it to be!

you have to admit, the things he said about the z06 were true, it is built like a milk carton (particularly the rear), and it very well could be horrible to drive on anaverage road, but remember, he did rate its track performance very highly.

and when they went to the US again, and drove the challenger, ZR1, and the CTS-V, they had nothing but praise for them (except the handling of the challenger lol).

so i dont think they are biased towards brands, unless they deserver it.

There are many quick hacks out there and I am not aware of many road tests being timed either, which again goes against your point.

No sure Alex, but I suspect it was down to the production companies that each of the presenters worked for and the direction they wanted to take TG. Tiff was still featuring on Clarkson DVD's after he left TG and went to 5th Gear but then they were not BBC productions so I suggest they didn't fall out, just went in different directions.

I'm pretty convinced it's old Top Gear, too. Tiff mentions at 2:26 that "the Seven has come a long way since its birth 40 years ago." Since the original Lotus Seven appeared in 1957, this video would have been shot in the late 1990's. The Superlight versions were introduced in 1996, and the faster motor was added just a couple years later.

Those facts, along with the cheap music, bad cinematography, and that old Fiesta, tell me that this is an old Top Gear episode.

I personally think Captain slow is the fastist driver because i've seen him drive a Ferrari F430 around the Top gear track and on hammerhead he lost the back and it was going to do a 360 but then when he did about a 120 he maneged to save it and that changed my opionion. He can drive really fast just when he wants to or gets darery. BTW, i met him and seen him drive the F430 when i went to see top gear.

Great car, but I wouldn't trust a Rover K-series that's had 230 bhp squeezed out of it. These engines weren't known for their toughness or reliability in standard shopping car tune, and the VHPD version was an abortion of a thing that had been put together without any input from the original engine designers.

A lot of these R500 engines stuck rods through their blocks before 10,000 miles.

Everyone has heard of the Bugatti Veyron right (fastest production Vehicle ever made) with the V12 Quad turbo charged enigne well this little car hits 100kph (62mph) only 1 sec slower than that. Bugatti = 2.5sec super 7 = 3.5sec. Yet the bugatti cost $5 million and the super 7 around $105,000. Ill just stick to my datsun 1200. :)
