Big Disclaimer:

Spy backstab hit-boxes don't work this way anymore and the timing is much more finicky.

I find it best to connect to the ground first before stabbing. You end up targeting ground rather than their back.

at 7:33 if you see the spys shadow and are very quick you may have a chance to turn around quickly or stop before your under him and kill him

I love watching spy tutorials mostly so I can be a better spy and counter them as well. Like the trick where you go upstairs then jump over them and backstab. I just had a game on bad water where I was chasing a spy the stairs by the lower red spawn and just knew he was going to try it. So kept an eye on him and as soon as he stopped I back up and killed him.

I guess the moral of this "cool story bro" is that this video is great and very helpful.

Even after all the patches and changes made to the game since this was first made, overall most of these tactics hold true. The main difference is that the timing on certain moves like the stair stab is different.

The thing that made these vids so good is they were done at a time when the spy was looked at as very weak, with no ammo replenishing watches, and hell, only one watch type ever anyway!
