  • @horsegirl2022 she was voiced by Frank Oz

  • In the opening number. . . Gonzo the Great didn't get applause. I'M IN A RAGE!

  • Awe, comparing Kermit to Mickey. That's sort of fitting, seeing as Mickey was one of the many who supported Kermit after Jim died. It's fantastic when the stars you love the most are as good as you think they are.

  • The opening acts always scare me...

  • @horsegirl2022 A girdle is something worn to decrease waist size on a woman.

  • the sketch was written in java script...

  • what's a gurdle?

  • java is weird

  • Miss piggy: YES I CAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAN!

    Ethel: Oh yes you can.

    Ha ha ha!

  • They sanged songs from anything goes!

  • I had no idea who Ethel Merman was until her and Mrs. Piggy started singing Anything You Can Do. XD

  • Ethel Merman doesn't look much like a merman, especially since she's a woman. :-)

  • @PatrickLMT I absolutely agree. This show introduced me to all the greats. I'll add that it included those who were less pop culture. For example, Zero Mostel, Rudolf Nureyev, Beverly Sills, etc. Nowadays, you won't see opera singers or ballet dancers on tv.

  • RIP Ethel Merman 1908-1984 There's No Business like Show Business

  • I always though it was weird the fact that Piggy was voiced by a guy....

  • @nandesneto Woody Woodpecker was voiced by a woman.

  • @nandesneto She Was?!?!? t

  • Song composers: 3 Cole Porter, 1 Jule Styne and Stephen Sondheim, 2 Irving Berlin, and 1 Harold Karr and Matt Dubey

  • I watch alot of old muppet shows. I love Ethel Merman. Thier are times her songs are stuck in my head. I like the funny part, "Can You bake a pie? No... Niether can I." Lol

Lord Jesus Christ loves and He still saves. :)

  • what year was this?

  • Cheers to a later bloomer.

  • Aw Scooter is so adorable. :)

  • I love Ethel. I hop it will not be considered ungracious of me, in the face of the other very talented artists who have sum my songs and helped them along to popularity, to confess that I;d rather writ for Ethel than anyone else in the world.

Every composer has his favorite, and she is mine----- Cole Porter

  • Hey sorry i put the wrong time on Its around 6:45 when Scooter right after he says '"Its Delicious.' His eyes look very odd. Stop right on 6:46 to see.

  • @mabgamer6407 that's just the light catching his glasses. :o)

  • no, but he's a puppet, so i doubt anything happened just your eyes playing tricks

  • hmmm well any way its nothen big any way oh well...

  • I wonder if this was when the show started to get more publicity. Ethal Merman was a HUGE star back in the day!

  • was she a start for the same reason as Florence Foster Jenkins?

  • *shrugs* I have no idea.

  • Oh, that's a low blow. FFJ was truly wretched.

She may not have the greatest voice, but it was very loud (which was important in the days before microphones) and she had a talent for upstaging people. She was like a real life Miss Piggy, which made her perfect for comedies.

  • season one, don't know ifthat'sit

  • ms merman played in it's a mad world!!

  • COOL SHOW 5 STARS!!!!!!!

  • lol Fozzie's joke was awesomely classic XD

  • Haha, Ethel and Miss Piggy would sing that song, lol

  • @byranntherockstar

Yeah, "Anything You Can Do I Can Do Better" is the perfect song for them, especially since Miss Piggy is sometimes rivals with the female guest stars.

  • This Medley is fantastic. Miss Piggy and Ethel doing Anything you Can Do? Seriously now

  • Cute, cute agent!

  • Here's the only Season 1 episode that didn't have an At the Dance sketch.

  • Cole Porter!!

    This is awesome.

  • The sketch was on the Ed Sullivan Show.

  • Wow, the part at 3:57 made me jump a bit, hahaha

  • Sweet, a little ... whatever... gg

I love the show. Thanks for posting. :)

  • Ah! Cole Porter.

  • Java sounds a bit like "Yakety Sax", the theme from the Benny Hill show.

  • What?

  • Awesome.

  • amazing at any age!

  • Both Ethel and the Muppet Show! :)
