did you find the car a bit more too agressive in high speed corners after disconnecting the front sway bar? cus thats how my car felt.. had a lot of dangerous spins.. and what spring rates do you have front and back? maybe mine are too soft in front, i have 450fr/350rr.
@davidzzz94 Can't remember the spring rates of the H&R Race Springs, but a quick search shows 460F/360R, which sounds about right. The car was able to spin more easily so I guess it comes down to personal preference. My personal preference is oversteer rather than understeer; however, there is a reason that most cars, including Integras, leave the factory set for understeer: safety! The stiffer Comptech rear roll bar only made the oversteer worse (or better, depending on your point of view),
Your car looks very straight, I'm thinking of getting the koni yellows for my sti soon, how do you like them on the track and on the street? Do you have any experience with other suspension manufacturers to compare them to? Nice driving, what tires are you using?
@palamala112 I really liked the Koni yellows, but would have preferred a proper set of coil-overs. Without coil-overs, i had no way of corner-balancing the car, so it would handle better turning one direction (right hand turns IIRC) than the other.
Awesome driving! It's really cool to see how you can take a cheap car to the track with light mods and have just as much fun as the guys who spent 80,000+ on their cars. I applaud you.
It was much easier to get the rear end to come around after disconnecting the front sway bar. By the time I disconnected the front bar, I had already added the stiffer springs all around and added the stiffer rear sway bar, so I didn't have any problems with body roll. One issue that didn't bother me but might bother some, is that I only disconnected the front bar--didn't remove it altogether--so in normal driving it would make a light clunking sound sometimes.
Thanks for the ride, great driving by the way
