Colorado is famous for these "landspout" tornadoes... These usually form along bounderies and in strengthening thunderstorms. They're weaker than supercell tornadoes, but can still do a good amount of damage and kill people caught in them.
Most are rated EF-0 and EF-1, but there have been reports of landspouts doing EF-3 level damage before.
Well then closer to Castlerock right? lived out there years ago but its grown so much since then.

there were actually 2 tornados that day. this one was in castle pines, and the other in the pinery, where I was.
