  • fuc dat avertisment bitches

  • wtf is this bish talking about saying MJ "bleached" his skin??

where has she been for the last 30 years?????

i hate ignorant azzzzz interviewers like her.

go suck an egg Katie Couric!!!!!!

  • Spike Lee is high in every interview I ever see him doing

  • Michael NEVER EVER bleached his skin!!!! And everyone of all races accused him of bleaching, and said he was 'ashamed' of being black. It's a lie, and a terrible rumor.

  • DA FUCK IS SHE TALKIN BOUT ?..LAST TIME MJ HAD A BIG HIT?

EVERY THING HE MADE WAS A BIG HIT ?....DO YO RESEARCH ...TF YALL STUPID

  • I hate this intervue........

  • @Gamecock387 may he rest in peace.

  • @Gamecock387 yes, he probably did have vitiligo, but vitiligo patient's skin usually lightens in patches. People think Michael bleached his skin because it didn't go in patches. I believe he had vitiligo, but to avoid the paparazzi making a fuss, he bleached some of his skin to even it out, theres nothing wrong with that. Michael Jackson was most certainly black.

  • @13heavymetal There was absolutely no skin bleaching, both Karen and Michael acknowledged those rumors. It was Heavy, thick, stage makeup. I don't know if you've ever put any stage makeup on, but that stuff is THICK. It can literally change someone's skin tone, very easily as well as hide blemishes. They used very thick heavy coats of the stuff in the earlier stages of vitiligo, and Michael was also recieving treatments to speed the process of vitiligo, and get rid of the dark blotches.

  • Katie dear, you better do some researching, NOBODY IS LARGER THAN MICHAEL JACKSON! In the Philippines even a 1 year old child knows him. And he was never a Fallen Star as tabloid and media wants to portray it, HE"S A SUPERNOVA AND NO ONE IS BRIGHTER THAN HIM! He never bleached his skin, it's just that he has no choice because he got Vitiligo.

  • @megakingmj ha yeah u tell that bitch :)

  • ok michael had to bleach his skin because of viltigo because otherwise it would of been patchy and he paid loads of money for it. but don't diss him cuz it's not fair. i don't understand why people say he wanted to be wight because he can never hide his background . ly mj

  • @bellaxxful Stage makeup covered the blotches =) There was no bleaching

  • What the hell does she mean by "Weird sides and where do people put those sides in their legacy department?!" Kiss my ass! That's goody that she forgot her question.

  • when white people perm their hair or tan themselves no one acusses them of trying not to be white.....

  • Katie Couric would get it so hard...

  • Katie I like u but you really disappointed me with the skin bleaching you know that he had vitiligo & lupus you should know better. Please stick to TRUE reporting don't become a tabloid journalist because I will be forced to stop watching your show. Spike you should have corrected her you know 1st hand about his skin disorder. MJ = HUMANITARIAN 4 Black people Katie redeem yourself by correcting your comment on MJ u should know better. Idiosyncrasies are part off all guines through out history

  • fuck no

  • Greatest testimony of MJ that I've seen yet!!!

  • thank you SPike for loving MJ. He was a great man. Thank you for showing our beloved MJ so much respect. Because he truly deserves it.

  • love how spike laughs

  • He was never convicted of doing that shit although his behaviour was suspect as fuck. Judge not lest ye shall be judged.

  • Jordy NEVER testified AGAINST MJ in 1993--even when he was forced to do so by his GREEDY, extortionist dad--Evan Chandler !

Then in 2003, Jordy was subpoenaed to appear for the 2003 trial, and Jordy opted to go abroad in order NOT to testify against MJ~!

Given the balloon boy hoax, GREEDY parents will corrupt their OWN children and forced them to lie to get MONEY and fame!

  • @Darksteez OJ Simpson was never convicted either, dumbass.

  • @Darksteez BTW, I'm not a weak-minded christian so I'll judge whoever the fuck I want

  • @raoulthompson DON'T CALL URSELF CHRISTIAN IF UR JUDGEMENTAL. YOU"RE NOT A TRUE GOD FOLLOWER! READ, SEARCH ... MAY GOD GUIDE YOU.

  • i love michael,they cannot produce a child

like his talent,no matter how they trained

anyone, its not an accident ,every song is

    better than other

  • They could at least have someone interview Spike Lee that knew a little bit about MJ and did her homework. Has she been hiding under a rock to think that Michael didn't have a hit for 25 years?

I get so tired of people thinking that his

fame ended with "Thriller." Get a grip on reality.

  • Shining - Michael Jackson Hip Hop Tribute Rap

  • I get sick of the color thing too. Michael was black and proud of it. He had vitiligo and had to resort to depigmentation to even out the blotches. I'm sick of people saying he bleached his skin because he was ashamed to be black when that was furthest from the truth.

  • Awesome interview!!! Never thought I'd see Spike with gray hair...WOW!

  • Thank you Spike Lee. I've been listening to just MJs music after he died. I don't care about anything else but his music and his dancing and his videos. Nothing MJ did bothered me. He was a great artist and that's enough for me. Miss Couric was really hateful. I never watch her news program. And for someone so untalented as her to criticize someone as big as Michael Jackson is pitiful. You even forgot one question. How unprofessional!

  • Thank you Spike for this interview and your praise of MJ. I feel the same way, and that's all I've been listening to as well. I wish I could of been in Brooklyn to share the event with all the MJ lovers.

  • God! What an unprofessional journalist. Please do researches before you do a interview. MJ said over and over again since Oprah show he had skin disease. He is proud to be black. And no hit for 25 yrs? are you kidding me? Then I guess no boday else has hit for the past 25 yrs. All MJ's solo albums are just great. And he is wierd? I think the media is more wierd. The media just like to make such a great person look bad. Even after his death, they still show no respect to such a great artist.

  • Why is it EVERY American Journalist focalises on: child molestation

(acquitted), skin bleaching (Vitiligo) etc etc. MJ was a wonderful ambassador for the States.

  • What a dumb bitch! How can she say that it's been 25 years since Michael had a hit? He was always making great music. She must be focusing ONLY on Thriller (and Off The Wall), and completely ignoring his other works, like Bad (1987), Dangerous (1991), HIStory (1995), Blood On The Dance Floor (1997) and Invincible (2001). Just because these albums weren't as FAMOUS as Thriller, or sold as many copies, doesn't mean they weren't hits. I can't stand Katie Couric now.

  • I can't stand what Katie Couric keeps saying... she just makes herself sound so ignorant, saying that Michael "bleached" his skin. Michael explained over and over that he has vitiligo. He did NOT bleach his skin. And all those "strange sides" of Michael that Katie kept saying, it's all just making me dislike her so much, because she's just showing her ignorance, but it's being accepted as true knowledge... makes me sick.

  • Talent does not come from god. It comes from hard work.

  • You have to already have a natural talent for something, weather it's singing, dancing or whatever. Then you work to prefect it.

  • I agree. I just don't believe that natural talent is god given.

  • haha it's nature-given then! what's the difference?

  • It is a combination of both.

  • I agree that it's a combination of natural talent and hard work but I don't believe that natural talent is god given.

  • True, But Born talent comes from god. Not that I believe in God.

  • You believe that born talent comes from god but you don't believe in god?

    That makes no sense.

  • lol I know it does not. What I mean was what michael had was born talent. he naturally stood out. He naturally had stage presence. But he DID work is ass off to make use of his talents and get better and have a very creative musical career. I meant god as in "what made you" not as in "GOD'.

    cheers

  • Very contradicting actually... =S

  • What is?

  • respect for Spike Lee for telling the Truth....

  • Wow Katie Couric this is really poor research on your part.....are you kidding me?.....a little bit more research would have shown you that Micheal Jackson had vitiligo...gosh

  • The reason U only had Off the wall on your first I-pod is because it's the best album period. And U know that's right Spike

  • Comment removed

  • So true - journos are just so lame when they don't do their research - and then don't realise they aren't reporting accurately... people are just so fucking thick sometimes... where's the work ethic gone - has no one heard of six sigma - invented by General Electric for God's sake - an american methodology!

  • i share those same memories of Micheal with Spike, that was a great time to be a kid

  • i agree MaryMPF45..we put so much pressure on these stars, we dont realize their humans and hve feelings

  • I am so tired of the media accusing MJ of bleaching his skin....the man had vitiligo yet somehow most reporters/journalists forget that tidbit. I really believe that MJ had no shame in being black nor do I believe that he aspired to be white.

  • I'm sorry but I have to say something about ur comment: my cousin has Vitiligo and it didnt change his hair and nose or make him have white features. If MJ had that desease, and because he was MJ, he should speak up, like those who got cancer and AIDS. PLZ dont blame it on the desease. It's not personal, but I had to comment. Whatever he did, he did it. I have a lot of respect for him, and wish he RIP.

  • mj admitted to having vitiligo in a 1993 interview w/ oprah...in 1984 he suffered from 2nd and 3rd degree burns on his scalp which led to wigs and hair extensions...vitiligo varies from person to person,.for years mj used make up to tone out his skin but i do believe that he used treatments to permanently even out his tone....i cannot excuse him for the nose jobs but i do think it is important that the media should mention that the man had vitiligo when they talk about his skin tone

  • really?..so what about millions of black women and even some black men who put relaxers in their hair, what about millions of white women and men who chemically change the texture or color of their hair, what about half of hollywood who have from fake hair to fake feet....hmmmm....it's quite interesting when we choose to point fingers, while forgetting four other fingers are pointing back to us.....hmmmmm

  • I get what ur saying. I can't really comment on his surgeries, that's his business. And quite frankly I don't care, I adored his music. What gets me is when people say he "bleached" his skin. I mean why is it people wanted him to walk around with this disease and such severe discoloration when we don't have to make that choice. On CNN his dermatologist spoke out about his vitiligo and how they treated it and you know, i don't have vitiligo praise God so I can't tell anyone how to deal with it.

  • Michael spoke out. No one listened, still the tabloids chose to lay out the negative shit and make lies. Michael wore a wig cause he went bald from lupus. He obviously had surgery on his nose, how stupid are you to not know that? Do you honestly think that Michael's nose changed because of vitiligo? Ignorant.

  • Yes (sir/ma'am) U r 100% correct!!!! I heard Michael had Vitiligo!! I became a true believer about 10 years ago when I looked a some photos of him from the triumph era and he was clearly 2 toned, and then in some pictures during the thriller era he was very dark and some he was light skinned, and in some pics his make up wasnt even on both sides or he had sweated the make up off

  • loved this interview.

  • spike lee is so lame but Crooklyn was a really good movie though........

  • Why is he so lame?

  • No, Katie was lame... lol

  • I <3 you Michael! You will be missed! I just got this ringtone from mjtones. com to commemorate him!

  • this was a great interview!

  • I just love Michael, this song is so amazing...I just had to get the MJ ringtone at mjtones. com

  • I agree with Spike Lee when he said when the Osmonds came out it was suspect. Media could not handle having 5 black talented men take over so they decided to develop the Osmonds

  • the king of pop will be sorely missed...this song is amazing...I just had to get the MJ ringtone at mjtones. com

  • wonderful vid katie...spike could not say it any better...

  • genius talkin about a genius.

  • Yeah, thanks Katie, for placing this one up, because not only those clip allow me to see Spike Lee (The world's most under-rated and most underappreciated director) in a different light, but one can actually feel the love and the lost that we all share, from the lost of talented, yet tortured man. may God protect and embrace Michael's spirit, with His love. Thanks Spike...You're the best!!!

  • Thanks for putting this up Katie!

  • I love Katie Couric, awesome video

  • The issues don't come with the talent... they come with the fame and public exposure, lack of privacy and lack of what the rest of the world knows as "normal"

  • Enjoyed the interview

  • interesting interview

  • 4:30 VERY TRUE

  • You mean court side Knicks seats.
