  • I lived acouple of blocks away as a child, 89-29 163rd street

  • I used to party at the Bristol Hotel in the 70s (Jamaica, Queens, NY). There was a club and bar there that a social club rented out to throw parties.

  • First rap Record I Ever Bought

  • Originally it was a Hotel, later it became a Senior Nursing home. I lived next door @ 88-44 161 St. It was first a Hotel, later changed!

  • Where's @?

    Jamaica, Queens...so true...lmao

  • @navalwarfare If memory doesn't fail me, The Bristol Hotel was on the corner of 89th and 161st Jamaica, NY 11432.

In the early 80's all of 89th was filled with hookers day and night. One of the biggest crack dealers was Mr. White. he served across the street from the Bristol @ The Whitman Hotel. All of these Hotel's were at one time really nice hotels. The Whitman was where airline pilots and flight attendants stayed over night.

  • @alvaritocamanillo True but The Whitman was a Senior Citizen Home not a hotel though.

  • @alvaritocamanillo There are Bristol Hotels throughout the world, but they do not form a chain. The name dates to 1816. The Carter Family sang in their 1930 recording “It'll Aggravate Your Soul:" "We spent six nights in the Bristol Hotel."

  • Thank u for these videos I love this CD I love the 1980's my youth is great Im 35 now still love the 80's :-) Patty

  • yup 515

  • 161 in jamaica used to be like whores row in 1987, word up. never been in the bristol though. but maaaan, 161 was like a rap video today, ho's by the hundreds

  • 161 and what?

  • havnt heard this since it came out and it just popped up in my head yesterday crazy song to remember from when i was12yrs old

  • The funny thing is he rarely cursed in this Song yet it was a street song. I mean Artist were more clever back then.

  • THERE WAS IN DA 80'S

  • i read thats theres no bristol hotel in jamaica is that true

  • its long gone, i went by about 10 years ago and the building is something else now

  • Yeah its a welfare hotel now. But not much has changed about it

  • the bristol hotel where all the hookers were back in da day

  • room 515!!

    where's da at "jamaica quens"

  • "Her meat tastes better than Burger King".. absolute classic. In college in 1987 I was actually staying in a dorm room with room # 515. I used to blast this song all the time. I've always thought that way he talked about AIDS was a sign of the times... back then it was something that only happened to someone else or on the news so you could joke about it like he did. Not anymore.

  • I grew up across the street from the Bristol Hotel. Its a real place! Was a big crack dealers haven in the 80's. Now its a welfare hotel.

  • I Remeber them crackhead ho's walkin all up and down that block!!

  • wheres it at i kinda live in long island but my grandma live in jamaica queens and lives like 10-15 minutes away from lls grandmas house i think i jus wanna see it

  • It was on 161 st and 89th ave. between Jamaica and Hillside Ave.

  • É assim que se faz um VERDADEIRO RAP ..... Base perfeita, vocal melhor ainda ... E vejam o quanto que LL evoluiu !

  • Nobody rocks it like the one Cool J.

  • Tight Kid !!!!!!

  • SHIT!!! this is real hip hop and, it's to back they don't make songs like that anymore

  • my brother's used to rock this

  • Cool song. Thanks for posting. Whoever want sing along go to " the bristol hotel lyrics " It will pop right up. God bless the rappers.

  • This old school song is a perfect example of how perfectly rimed verses and traditional drums can create something fresh and lively. Educational material level

  • L.L...Tiiight,,,Room 515..

  • BRING LL COOL J BACK

  • the nigger shit today suz this is good

  • He is versatile homie

  • One of the best albums i ever herd "bigger and deffer".The hole album was off the hook.Old skoolllll..Baby

  • I couldn't agree more. Definitely LL Cool J at one of his finer hours vocabulary and lyricism-wise (although you still could tell that he had a breath control problem, if you listen closely to the way he stopped and paused between verses extremely quickly). My favorite album of his will always be "Radio," but someone already uploaded the whole thing already. Glad you enjoyed this vid!

  • His style baby. Method man do that

  • @ReturnFromTheGrave breath control problems? he had the most clear flow they ever was ...nitro is a clear example of how tight his flow was!
