Just as a matter of interest I've doen an internet search and I've come across a few examples of the song where, where accordingto the title, the lyrics say the "how" but once the lyrics are written out for you the "how" is never there. Looked at ten or so. It say it would disrupt the flow of the rhythmical and musical line, Of course I'm niot going to be so gross as to listen to anyone othern than Taylor sing it,

@cantorga This song was written years ago, and I suppose it has evolved. A word was dropped to make it flow better, but it stayed in the title for copyright reasons. I've listened to lots of others who have sung this song, and everybody does it a little different, depending on their preferences and abilities. But that's common with most older songs.

Taylor doesn't sing the "how" (in any of the 3 or so versions I've heard her in) and that's the only version that counts for this professional musician but admittedly yodelling-ignorant old cuss!!! I don't see where the "how" would fit in rhythmically in the first line anyway. It would add an extra eighth-note that it doesn't need and would send the scansion askew. But you probably know more about it than I do, so I defer to you in this. The point is to enjoy it, and I think we both do!!!!

@vulturevenom18 Taylor's Fan Forum has two Dutch members who both yodel. One is Janneke, search YouTube for "janneke holland's got talent". She's yodeled several times on Dutch tv and radio. The other does not yodel professionally, but she's good! You'll have to trust me on that one. And then there was Focus doing Hocus Pocus in the 70's, hard rock yodeling. I've forgotten a 4th one, my brain went to sleep early this evening.
