  • Sin is just a religious concept designed to keep the faithful under control.

  • @Darwinsman Sin is an objective crime against God (1 John 3:4) and you don't want to admit that because if you find out that it's true you'll be held accountable to God for all that you've done against Him. You're a hater of God (Romans 1:18-32) You must flee from your humanistic ideas and your sins and ask Christ to forgive and save you!

  • @RonMaday Sin is not a crime recognised by any legal system in the world other than some theocracies. It is a transgression of a religious or moral law of a capricious God.

God's laws and morals are not true morality.

In most democratic societies, if you followed your god's laws precisely, you would be arrested and jailed for life.

"My humanistic ideas", as you call them, are far more ethical and moral than those of your sadistic god.

  • @Darwinsman I am a bit confused! What laws of the bible would put people in jail for life in most democratic societies, such as Canada or the U.S.A.?

  • @philipdeanna The 4th commandment states that no-one shall work on the sabbath. (Exodus 20:8-9)

However, Exodus 31:15 goes on to say that anyone working on the sabbath must be put to death. So if god's law is strictly adhered to, it is incumbent on all christians to kill anyone working on the sabbath.

Of course, I know this is ridiculous. No sane person in the west, at least, would ever countenance such a thing. I use it to point out the anomalies and contradictions in religion.

  • @Darwinsman And there is the problem. You view God's Laws as something YOU have to follow. But you and I CAN'T. That's why Christ had to come down and live them for us and die under God's justice in our place so we could be freely reconciled to Him.

  • Thank you so much for posting these videos, but this seems like it needs the context of the video to get the full point he was trying to make. It seems a little dangerous when taken by itself and separated from the rest of the sermon. But you have a lot of other great videos that teach on sin and salvation. I recommend that this not be the only one anyone watches.

  • "You Always Have Sin"

How dare you try to make me guilty. I feel your preaching of this rubbish is a Sin yet you feel no guilt whatsoever.

  • @UrukEngineer i dont think he's preaching is a sin. the bible tells us we all have sin. its so true what my pastor told me many people love to hear good things only and reject the negative. right now, im looking at it.

  • @irvintiu "Hearsay" is inadmissible in a court of law as it is recognised as poor evidence. The bible is just hearsay. Worse than that, there is documentary evidence to show that it has been fabricated by man (Council of Nicea). Do you have any evidence, other than hearsay, by which you feel you can convict me of sin?

  • @UrukEngineer well, first, the fact that you feel guilty on the first place. why do you feel guilty on the first place?

we all sin and fall short on the glory of GOD. even looking on a woman with lust is really a sin. it is commiting adultery.

or thinking you killed a certain person. thats already commiting murder.

    think about it.

a little child lies, even the parents didnt teach him how to lie its bec of sinful nature of man.

if your an athiest, i want to invite you to watch this video

  • @UrukEngineer itss called "case for a creator" another video "the case for christ" and also "the case for faith"

its a athiest journalist who search hard about GOD. until he concluded that there is GOD.

watch this if you have time.

  • @irvintiu Do you mean Lee Strobel? Yes, I have seen his videos. I found them unconvincing. His deconversion was apparently tainted by elements of guilt, interpersonal tension, and ecstatic epiphany. Strobel cannot be counted as an atheist having long-term experience with both sides' arguments who later converted to christianity purely by comparing those arguments.

  • @UrukEngineer so what do you believe in? how do we exist then? do we pop up from nothingness just like that with the great design everywhere?

have you search about sodom and gomorrah? God poured rain of fire on it. and shows evidence how God did.

ill send you message the link

  • @irvintiu I believe that science has yet to prove beyond doubt how the universe was created. However I think that there is strong evidence all the way back to the moment after the Big Bang. There is no "grand design", just a consequence of the "laws" of nature.

The bible is hearsay and so is not reliable evidence. Surely you do not honestly do not believe in the *literal* interpretation of the bible? It is so full of contradictions it cannot be taken seriously.

  • @UrukEngineer big bang is just a theory. no proof at all. even darwin's evolution really fail.

so your saying its by chace that we existed?

i believe everything what the bible says. contradictions? wait you watch the "case for christ right"?

if bible is a lie then the bible will not be called "the life chaging book". i myself, a "porno addict" for almost i think about 8 - 10years. just change my life.

or a former drug addict is now a worship leader.

  • @UrukEngineer or a former president of a frat which is now part of the worship team.

not only that, my mom, experience supernatural, which is the gift of tongue. or have seen a vision or heard a voice.

if bible is fake then there is no power at all.

my friend, its up to you if you believe or not, but i myself experience changes so i now believe

  • @irvintiu What makes you think the bible is right? Do you not know that it contradicts itself and is clearly the work of men, not of a god?

  • @UrukEngineer show me parts where it contradicts.

remember the bible is written by different person which are inspired by the holy spirit.

so, the stories are on different perspectives. the people who is inspired by the holy spirit are looking on the same events on different angles.

i got a question.....since you watch the video of lee strobel's "case for a creator".

you still prefer to believe a bigbang theory than what strobel explain?

another question... where will you go after you die?

  • @irvintiu "another question... where will you go after you die?". No where.

Life is sort of like a program running on a PC. If the PC is broken, the program stops running. It does not "go" anywhere.

  • @UrukEngineer that question is pretty simple.... heaven. but of course, there will be the judgement day before that.

study shows(its from a cd given by my brother i think it was about MAX confidence) 50 patients who have experience death then revive all experience the same thing. they saw a people place. not only that, also a member of a church also experience the same thing. she also saw a beautiful place.

  • @UrukEngineer like i said, if the bible is a lie, then we true christians never experience changes or transform in our lives. then the bible is not a life changing book but a lie.

if the bible contradicts itself then the bible cannot be trusted.

but i,myself, experience changes then i am convince that truely bible is a life changing book.

  • @irvintiu Please remember you said this "if the bible contradicts itself then the bible cannot be trusted."

Fasten your seatbelts, you are in for a bump ride:

MT 26:74 The cock crowed once.

MK 14:72 The cock crowed twice.

MT 27:3-7 The chief priests bought the field.

AC 1:16-19 Judas bought the field.

  • @irvintiu

MT 27:5 Judas threw down the pieces of silver, then departed.

AC 1:18 He used the coins to buy the field.

    MT 27:5 Judas hanged himself.

AC 1:18 He fell headlong, burst open, and his bowels gushed out.

GE 2:15-17, 3:4-6 It is wrong to want to be able to tell good from evil.

HE 5:13-14 It is immature to be unable to tell good from evil.

GE 4:4-5 God prefers Abel's offering and has no regard for Cain's

2CH 19:7, AC 10:34, RO 2:11 God shows no partiality. He treats all alike

  • @UrukEngineer ill pm you the answers, cos its too long

  • @irvintiu You sent me a detailed text on how these contradictions may be explained. Well done! You missed out a couple at the end, but the fact that you made a good attempt at the others is to your credit.

I've got many many more examples (Google "Bible Inconsistencies: Bible Contradictions? Compiled by Donald Morgan") but I won't challenge you to answer them.

The key point is that the text in the bible is ambiguous and it required you to add extra detail to make different accounts fit.

  • @UrukEngineer well, its up to you if you believe or not.

oh, yeah, i did miss out some sorry about that.

bible is written by different people inspired by the holy spirit. so, the stories are on different perspectives. they have seen the event on different angles. if they write the whole story in 100% detail. its like they discuss on what to write.

well, my friend, when you die you'll know the answer. but i really hope you accept jesus as Lord and Savior into your life.

  • @irvintiu "when you die you'll know the answer", sadly there is no evidence to suggest that anyone can ever *know* when they die. So in a sense this is a moot point. However, the real importance is in how our understanding leads us to act in this (our only) life.

Thank you for thinking about the issue.

  • @UrukEngineer

How do you *know* that this is our only life?

  • God gave a propitiation for our sin:His Son!We believe in Him ,we are clean,righteous...read Romans 3:24

  • You guys seem to be teaching that being saved only refers to the afterlife. If there were no afterlife at all, how would you demonstrate that you had been saved starting in THIS life?

  • @RobertMOdell Here, let's message about this. Comments are annoying. I'll hit you up with one.

  • Piper: "You always have sin".

Yep. Unlike Christ, I will always have my past sins on my record. As Piper states (strangly hurting his own argument) It doesn't say if we do no sin, that we deceive ourselves. And he is right because those who are washed and sanctified do no sin.

  • Intentional misreading of the scriptures. Sin isn't something you "have", it is something you do. The words read "have not sinned", not "have no sin". Why are you intentionally changing the scriptures?

  • @RobertMOdell He's in verse 8. You're in verse 10.

    Haha.

  • @clayhutchins No. He is intentionally mis-quoting verse 10. Verse 8 says "be without sin". Verse 10 says "have NOT sinned". That makes Piper a liar for which he needs to repent, as such is not walking with love toward Christ.

  • @RobertMOdell No, that's not what verse 8 says at all. Verse 8 is not a verse that tells us to not sin. It is a warning against claiming to not have sin. Seriously, you should go read it and see for yourself. 1 John 1:8.

  • @clayhutchins I was looking at the NIV version which says "be without sin" as I stated below. I now see that the KJV in verse 8 states "have no sin". The words aside, Piper is reading in meaning that is not present. Every person has sin on their record. That in no way declares that Christ cannot destroy the works of sin in a person's life. We are commanded to sin no more, after all, so it must not only be possible, but expected.

  • @RobertMOdell We get meaning from the words. So you can't say "words aside". "Have" means have. Piper never would say that Christ cannot destroy the works of sin in a person's life. He just says that progressive sanctification will not reach its perfection this side of heaven.

  • @clayhutchins Part 1. You can say "words aside" because each translation uses a different word. Therefore, only the original greek should be sought after if you want to form a theology around a single word. Scriptures nowhere teach incomplete sanctification, rather, a rapid and complete sanctification.

  • @clayhutchins Part 2. (1Corinth 6) Do you not know that the wicked will not inherit the kingdom of God? Do not be deceived: Neither the sexually immoral nor idolaters nor adulterers nor male prostitutes nor homosexual offenders nor thieves nor the greedy nor drunkards nor slanderers nor swindlers will inherit the kingdom of God. And that is what some of you were. But you were washed, you were sanctified, you were justified in the name of the Lord Jesus Christ and by the Spirit of our God.

  • @RobertMOdell The original greek is translated in the most literal english versions as "have". And Romans 7 teaches how there will always be that struggle against sin. I can't pretend that I will reach a state of sinlessness in this life, I won't. You won't. The bar is set far too high for anyone to get to that state. I actually agree 1 Corinthians 6, but in light of passages like Romans 7 and 1 John 1:8, I can't take that to mean that we will reach a time in this life where we are sinless.

  • @clayhutchins Yes. "have" is a possessive form. Hence, you have sin on your record. It doesn't mean you "do" sin, but you "have" sin.

You are misreading Romans 7. Paul is talking about his early life, his experiences when the law came into his life, his conversion in 8:1, and finally his sanctification following 8:1. Context is everything.

  • @clayhutchins I think that where you are going wrong is in assuming you get to a sinless state on your own power. Call upon Christ, repent of all your sins, and beg him to take away every sinful desire in your heart. If you truly love Jesus, this is what you will want to do. Through Christ all things are possible. Jesus never said "go and sin SOME more", he said "NO more". That means at all.

  • @RobertMOdell I love this argument... not at all what the churches I have attended preached, but I have finally come to the scriptures to persuade me beyond what I had been taught to what God really calls of me... I use a very similar sarcastic Quote... as if Jesus said "Go and keep on sinning, I'll forgive ya anyway"... it's awesome to find someone with the same truth in their heart!... and always follow through to Romans 8 to get the whole story.

    God Bless!

    peace brother!

  • @rtslayer Jesus bless you too! Thanks for your fellowship on this matter.

  • @clayhutchins At this very moment, my soul is not sinning. I am continuing on no sins. I have forgiveness from Christ for every sin I have ever committed. Hence, I am a sinless holy saint of God. It's that simple. Yes, my flesh is still a source of temptation and sin, but my soul does not have to choose it, because I have Christ and His Spirit on my side.

  • @RobertMOdell I agree with Clay...he is quoting verse 8, not verse 10. The NKJV says in verse 8, "If we say that we have no sin, we deceive ourselves, and the truth is not in us." Read it for yourself. Next time don't be so quick to judge. I agree that sin is something you do, but after you sin then that sin is in you, therefore you have sin. And don't forget, you're are born into sin. You have sin because you are a mortal man and human.
