  • I am interested in making something similar to this but hand held. I can't seem to see the laser in the beginning of the video, are you holding it in your hand during the show or is it mounted somewhere? Either way I am curious how you manipulate the device to produce such a variety of visualizations. Also where could I get the components used here? Thank you for your help.

  • @rmwill08

some general knowledge of electronics is needed to do the wiring...but i used what you would call volume control knobs 25 ohms each and low voltage power supply 3-9 volts so not to burn the volume knobs out..parallel circuit was used....the volume control knobs were used to control the speed of the motors the mirrors are attached too...the laser is also mounted on a tripod and aimed to bounce off of all 3 mirrors and then the wall...a hand held device would not be advisable

  • do the mirrors kindda wobble to make the effect, or is it just circle mirrors spinning on an axis ? it seems like the would have to wobble or something O_o please explain the mirrors. i dont see how spinning mirrors can produce this effect unless the reflect the laser buy spinning in a wobble type way, if you know what i mean.... i hope lol

  • @TheMeansardine

Yes they wobble..they are mounted slightly at an angle, not 90 degrees to the motor shaft...hope that helps

  • Portable? I think not haha

  • You know, one of the most vivid memories I have of you was of you doing you laser show on your bedroom way with a home made rig that looked a lot like this one. That must have been 20 years ago! It's good to see you again Brother!

  • Wow pretty sad that you can't count. Theres 3 mirrors

  • lol! well said.

  • wow, you're a massive dick.

  • COOL

  • How about square's ^^

  • check out my laser video

  • if u were seeing thatr live it wouldn't be so chopey

  • Awesome! I was wondering what would happen with three mirrors. Now what about 4! lol!

Tried putting a starfield diffraction grating in front of it? Could get a interesting effect there.

  • The third mirror makes the image kind of dance and morph into an alternate image. I dont know what a fourth mirror would do. Front surface mirrors do not have glass over the silver reflective suface so the beam would be pure. With regular mirrors like I used, the beam hits the glass reflects off of that a little, then continues through to reflect off of the reflective surface wich diffuses the beam a bit. So with 4 mirrors you would want front surface mirrors.
