  • that was fun thanks

  • this is verynice. tnx!

  • love this backing track!

  • Very good ! :D

  • Take your Em pentatonic scale play it on the 12th fret of the low E string normally then add in G string 11th fret, B string 13th fret and E string 14th fret. I personally don't like the majority of Major shapes when improvising.. so do what all the great guitarists like Gilmour/ Clapton/ Hendrix/ Knopfler etc... pentatonic shapes over the chords add in a few passing notes from the major scale and target the major key's tonic note and use octaves whenever you can.

  • Sound like Eric Clapton's version of Little Wing

  • this is great to practice scales!!!!

  • @MoonBlinkProduction it woulda been a lot funnier if you just said 18 people don't know the difference between G major and E minor and then left it at that hehehe

  • @delta9LouDog i don't know the difference between these two but what;s that supposed to mean? i still found this backing track amazing and quite inspirational

  • @mkwlord there is not any meaningful difference between the two, they are essentially the same thing. its a fun track, ill give it that atleast

  • I raped my acoustic guitar to this xD

  • @sgtcaco can u put some light on it . Y can't we play e minor on it ??

  • @prakash4uhere if you play an E note over this track constantly it won't sound as good as the note G, although you can use E minor, resting on that E note is a bad choice, so we look at it like we are in G major instead

(G major and E minor have the same note, it's just the tension/resolve points are in different places, some of which won't work with this backing track if you are playing in E minor)

  • this track is in g major an g minor .not e minor. if it was eminor i would play from the e prospective . so just call it g major so u dont confuse an also this scale is great mixed with g minor in side an out side licks , perfect . thanks,.

  • @sgtcaco eminor is the relative minor to g major so it contains the same notes :)

  • @NedMezmerXD no shit but if you keep thinking in that way your guitar work suffers. trust me i realy have been hearIf you think in e minor u are really going to target wrong notes to the underlying chords. my cosept is hard to explain but you must call a songs scale by what it is not what its relitive to for example-u could also say A dorian,d mixlydian,f sharp locrian, C lydian etc.. all these modes are reletive mate .see were u are going wrong yet or do I have to explain further.

  • This is a very great song and backing track; this can really hit the market man. Keep it up; in making this kind of tunes. :) Far-out!

  • d mixolydian works well with this, ta for uploading, really nice track :)

  • @IbanezjemJSX all modes of g major sound great over this

  • Sounds simular to YUI, awesome track

  • How do you get drum parts ?

  • 14 people dont know how to play in G major :D

  • @TheWildestGuitarist E aeolian is just dreamy too ;P

  • thank you man this helped with my homework a lot!

  • greatest backing track on youtube. there is a simple form that is great for remembering some patterns and place them at the good place in the track. for myself its the G/Em arpegios in sweep. As soon as i the song start i dont have to play and i hear those slow motion arpegios running!

  • try going between G major and b phrygian....gives it good flavor :D

  • G, then C on G, then Am then D

  • thats beautiful.

  • played first time with this and it was awesome ^^

  • This backing track is amazing, you can just instantly make awesome riff's and solo's so easy, it is so rythmic , thanks a million for uploading this.

  • @iAussieGuy have you noticed, that when I try improving without a backing track, it sounds boring. but you just put a few chords behind it and bam it sounds 10 times better.

  • @Ignore14 Incredible how powerful harmony is

  • try gmi pentatonic FUN :D

  • it sounds awsome when played in Bminor to!!!!

  • amazing!

  • nice one dude!!!!!! awesome backing track!

  • Can i take a vocal shot in this (yours) song? Ermmm... Very Wonderful instrumental from you,Mate... i'll sent and credits you in the outcome.. if u let me ^^

  • Sounds fantastic....what an uplifting feel this track has.

  • It's almost like playing with other musicians/with music makes it sound better than just playing solo. Also helps with the whole keeping time (I have a nasty habit of speeding up). Can't wait to get home and play overtop of this one.

  • What fret should I play on?

    :D

  • @masonrox2547 play all of the scales in the key of g/em. a dorian, b phrygian, c lydian, etc

  • haha how funny. i jammed to this with a tele in sunburst lol

  • Now that's an outstanding jam!!!!!!! DAMN

  • I have that exact guitar. Telecasters are fucking beast.

  • @Zmcluvin of course you know it's the same guitar without a brand name xD but I agree, I want a telecaster (I've got an les pauls junior and stratocaster)

  • woooo,, im playin this and idk how to play....lol... altho i've practiced for 20 yrs+....lol

  • @Detoxx23 20 + years, huh? I'd deduce that you're an adult. . . and still typing like that. I'm gonna go take a hot bath and open a couple of veins.

  • @skibbidiboo ya,, i do that myself from time to time...lol

  • For the first time in ages im having serious fun while playing guitar..

I'm smiling from ear to ear as i play along.. thanks, great track!

  • nice one its just awesome :)

  • excellent :D

  • i can play this on guitar its awesome very simular to how wonderwall by oasis is played

  • this is very pleasant to play along to thumbs up from me

  • tracks like this give me the illusion that i'm actually good >.>

  • @astralfarts Same feeling here. :P

  • watch?v=9MKPcE_HQ8Y&feature=related great solo

  • @astralfarts my friend the best illusion to making you feel like a rockstar while playin gguitar is weed.

  • @astralfarts same here

  • @astralfarts ha ha totally with you on that ¦o)

  • just rocked that shit!

  • I only got the feeling in G minor

  • @IbanezShredderMan U mean G Major?

  • I can improvise on this using the ionian scale starting at G and the Aeolian scale starting at E... I can't seem to figure out how to use the other scales :9

  • @PanndaKat You can play: A dorian, C lydian/ B phrygian, D mixolydian. Remember to keep G note as a root ( the whole track is played in G major)

  • @freewayink ut really depend sonthe harmony.

  • Yes krek, you can use the E minor pentatonic. Trile, this is not C major, it´s G mayor. It´s not the same. in G mayor the F note is a sharp-F.

  • This is not C major, this is G mayor. The G note is a sharp-G. Yes kreks, you can use the E minor pentatonic.

  • this is C major lol

  • Can somebody tell me if I take the E minor pentatonic, will I play the whole solo in this key?

  • Yes krek, you can use the E minor pentatonic. Trile, this is not C major, it´s G mayor. It´s not the same. in G mayor the F note is a sharp-F.

  • Great track, very easy to solo to.

  • That kicked ass.

  • download link?

  • the only thing wrong with this video is that it ended :(

  • So can I use the G ionian, or a dorian, b phyrgian, c# lydian scales, etc?

like any of the modes from the G scale?

Please help me, I don't really get modes! Thanks!

  • @BDagys im sat here thinking the exact same mate. i dont get it much either ionian phridgian dorian they sound the same to me just like one big major scale linked together

  • Best way to practice, cause it makes it fun :)

  • this is the best way to practice on my modes

  • I cant improv with the minor pentatonic for shit.

  • is it just Em and Gmaj or are there any other chords, does anyone know

  • 9 who doesnt like this video doesnt know what G major or E minor is

  • So similiar to Guns N' Roses - Patience :P So not bad at all

  • @Kolhonen thats why i thought :)

  • would you mind if I make a video of myself jamming over this track ??

  • nice backing track to solo over. I still don't know what scale im in when I play, Check it out sometime.

  • hahahaha i sound like Bon jovi!!!

  • whats the differecnce with the E harmonic minor? is it sadder?

  • @kamehamehax1000 E harmonic minor has a more middle eastern sound to it.

  • This was a lot of fun to blast all over the neck. Try and put bits and pieces of "E" harmonic minor in there. Great track, thanks.....

  • That is so beautiful.

Almost to the point that I want to stop soloing and just listen to it...I feel like my soloing will ruin the perfection.

  • Simply going up and down through the fret... Em pentatonic and G major lycs... and sounds pretty good. The magic of music.

  • Eminor/Gmajor is the same as A aeolian correct? plz answer--- .

  • @THUHweird not A aeolian, i meant E aeolian, A aeolian is the same as C major.... ------- soooo my question would be "Eminor/Gmajor is the same as E aeolian correct?"

  • @THUHweird Yes E minor is the same scale as E aeolian. (Different names, that's all.) So it also shares the same notes as G major.

  • @THUHweird Aeolian is basically the natural minor scale so yes, E minor is the same as E Aeolian and the relative major is G major.

  • What are the chords?

  • Comment removed

  • @13crusiej It's G, C and D.

  • @13crusiej hear it, feel it, and you will know them xD

  • @13crusiej G and D

  • @13crusiej C G Em D

  • @13crusiej seems to be combinations of C, G, Am, Em, and D

  • @13crusiej My Guess is : G - Em - Am - C : )

  • @13crusiej, The chords are the harmonic constructs suggested by the pitch and meter.

  • @13crusiej G-Am-D

  • @13crusiej I believe the progression is :

    Cadd9, G major, Am, D (with combinations of sus2 and sus4)

    Cadd9, G major, Em, D (with combinations of sus2 and sus4)

  • @mihaitza761Not sus 2, Dsus 11!!!

  • @zaifro Isn't sus11 the same with sus4?

  • @13crusiej noob cake its in the key of G, so start with G -.-

  • @hendrixslashmay You're wrong. It could start on any chord of the key. It just so happends to start on Cadd9. Research before you bash.

  • ChiLLing...

  • Great track, I am a beginner/intermediate guitarist who knows the A minor pentatonic scale fairly well...I play it over this and all of it mostly fits??I tend to, aw fuck i dunno.....

  • @p1ippers

try the e minor pentatonic, it will fit much better as it shares all the g major notes

  • @p1ippers learn the G Major scale positions 1 and 2 you will fly through soloing on this track ^^ - its quite quick to learn no sweat. for about a year I focused on the Amin Pentatonic but i learnt the G Major in pos 1 and 2 on Friday and my solo have imrpoved greatly due to that

  • @emergence999

G Major scale is not the only one here dude :)

You can use the G Ionion(same as the Gmajor scale) :), A Dorian, B Phrygian, C Lydian, D Mixalydian, E Aeolian and F# Locrian.. These are called church modes and go over certain chords played. Learn them and it will help. Also try learning all the pentatonic shapes.. They're pretty helpful :)

  • @Joshmv14 thnx man but thats alot to take in in a small amount of time lol - ive personally only learnt it recently so its best to start somehwere small and work on that till u get good then learn something new - thats my feeling on it anyway, learn something basic get good at that then expand

  • @emergence999

Anytime :) I know what you mean.. there was this one phase were I tried

learning everything in one go and I didn't learn anything..

Btw. You could use your Am Pentatonic scale shape on the same string but at the 12 fret for this song :) try it and see :)

  • @Joshmv14 yeah im quite comfy with the Am pentatonic ^^ - im just trying to expand things...check out my page I did a cover of a pink floyd tune using a backing track all with the Am Pentatonic shape

  • @Joshmv14 actually if you want to be technical G ionion, A dorian, B phrygian, C lydian, D mixalydian, E aeolian, and F# locrian are all the g major scale just starting and ending on different notes, just sayin

  • @guitarbeastasmpro So all that shit he was talkin are all the same notes? Lol!!

  • @guitarbeastasmpro

Yea :) But the different shapes open up a better ideas and stuff :) All these scales are confusing yet useful somtimes.. haha. :) I still like the pentatonic though.. Love that bluesy sound :D

  • @Joshmv14

Dude how do you know each key of each mode? why isnt it all in one key? Can you please reply and explain, it would help so much, thank you

  • @GuitarMasterGraeme This is entirely in one key. in each key there are 7 different modes which you constantly switch between, these are called your relative modes. theyre called that because they all use the exact same notes. (example: G major is: G A B C D E F# G. E minor is: E F# G A B C D E, the exact same notes are played, the only difference is the chord youre playing over.) In the key of G major you play A dorian B phrygian C lydian D mixolydian E minor and F# lochrian

  • Comment removed

  • @GuitarMasterGraeme thats a good explanation but what if i dont know the exact chord progression of the track? should i just play up and down the fret board and just hope for the best? say for instance i want to keep the sound of my solo as phridgian but near the end want to change to dorian. how do i do that? im aware that the dorian sound comes from soloing over the 2nd chord ie Am but what if the song doesnt use Am how do i play dorian then? please reply you seem knowledgeable. thank you

  • Thank you for posting all of these backing tracks. It has made practicing more fun. This is my favorite track to play over so far.

  • It's a fantastic track. But fade outs are not good.

  • If anyone listens to praise, i'd say this sounds EXACTLY like Mighty To save. the praise song!

  • @shane0jack Yeah I'd imagine you'll find a lot of Chrstian 'rock' songs are built on a simple G C D.

  • very cool. thanks!!!

  • Gmaj Pentatonic / G major scale.. awesome.

  • do u mind if i use this track for a video??

  • awesome! i love it :D

  • I too had an ear-gasm like 123playdead.

  • hey great track! would you be able to send me the link to the audio file by itself? thx

  • its amazing!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • great track! thank you!

  • My fingers were near bleeding when I realized I had spent 3 solid hours repeating this lil diddy.

Most excellent, many thanks for the pain!!!

  • C major is better to soloing on this backing track, just try it :)

  • Great track! Thank you!

  • its more major than minor

  • woah this is a bloody awesome backing track :) cheers buddy
