There are 8 tones in Hmong Der. Your pronounciations are off, but still understandable. On the bright side, you've got the tones down well, much better than about 70%-90% of the full blooded 1st gen Hmong Americans born here. Tone means everything. Even if you pronounce it wrong, if the tone is right, the meaning is still there. If you pronounce it right, but use the wrong tone, it means something else.

"S" words are pronounced like "sh" English words, and "X" words are pronounced like "S" English words. So if you say, "sawvdaws" . . .you say it like it's spelled with "sh" in front of it.

Green Hmong is not that much different from White Hmong - think US Northern and Southern accent as an example. Most Green only speak the White dialect anyways :). Oh, another thing to consider is that if you live in an area highly populated by Hmong people, you should consider conversing with them in Hmong. Having that person will help you with fluency and pronunciation because they will help correct what you say and aid your understanding of the language. I hope that i'm not being to critical but you could become quite fluent if you work at it.

For one week, you've made great progress. Your tones actually sound quite nice and though it is off at times you've got the flow of the language. And you pronounced the vowels or the niam ntawm quite well too. The one critique that I have for your pronunciation are your initials or txiv ntawm. In your video, you pronounced the s- sound like an x- sound and the nt- sound more like an nd- sound. Even so, it is still quite understandable.
