These buildings were brought down by nuclear demolition. That's the only way 5 inch thick steel girders and trusses could be turned into dust. Just watch the video and you'll see the plumes of smoke and dust falling in all directions in parabolic motion away from the building. That means there is an outward component of velocity in all directions from the center. Something has ejected matter outward. Something like a giant explosion erupting like a volcano. Simple if you free your mind.
I think the only reason the towers collapsed is because the building was structured strongly enough. The frame was weak so therefore when the planes hit and the top half collapsed the rest of it couldn't hold on and it just gave way. If a plane hit the Empire State Building it would stand tall because it was built with expertise. That's what my grandfather told me anyway.

The Twin Towers were built to withstand their weight SEVERAL times over, the impact of a fully loaded 707 (which would have done more damage to the building because of its speed at take off and landing), and the top of them only swayed THREE FEET in winds that sometimes reached the force of the hurricane (for 30 years). High-rise buildings (17 floors plus) are simply not built to collapse. No steel-framed H-R building has EVER collapsed due to fire.

Your think the fires caused the collapse? How about the impact of a plane moving at +500 mp/h laden with jet fuel? When jet fuel is compressed, it explodes rapidly. Sure it can't be hot enough to melt steel, but that's not even what happened. The superstructure of the building was weakened by the impact. It was finished off by the fires, and the top portion of the building collapsed into the lower section. Lol, get a life.
Before you start jumping to the conclusions of conspiracies, why don't you watch the technical reviews, specifically the one from Purdue University.
When the plane hit, it severely damaged and took out critical support columns, and the burning jet fuel heated the supports to their inevitable failure.
Because of that failure, the top portion crashed down, damaging the floors below, and as each floor became damaged and failed, the rest of the building failed and collapsed.
Let the video play until it just hits 0:12. Then pause it. You can see the tip of the WTC1 antenna sticking up out of the smoke cloud. Given where the tip of the antenna is, we know the damaged part of WTC1 has collapsed. Not entirely unexpected. Now look at the lower UNDAMAGED part of the building. Still solid, right? Now roll the video.
What happens to the undamaged part? It does NOT collapse as the upper part did. It EXPLODES. Why? The upper collapse was already over!

I took the mass of the top floors and calculated the kinetic energy of it falling. I think I used 68,000 tons and 30 feet as the values (converting to kg and meters) to get an answer in joules, then found a site that had comparisons of joules and 'tons of tnt'.
Umm.....sorry to be such a stickler for details but this is the NORTH Tower. The south tower did not have a TV antenna.
BTW, I believe planes hit both towers. I could understand the upper parts of the towers collapsing. I could understand the lower parts collapsing, but not exploding.

Good point. I try to collect alternative explanations, especially for WTC7. First possibility: very brittle columns that shattered like glass once overloaded. Second: vertical columns in a knee joint design such that once bent they collapsed with little resistance. Bazant and coauthors have a knee joint drawing in their tower paper. Perhaps the "knees" were locked by removable "pins" that could be "pulled" by cables. That design might explain Silverstein's "pull it" comment. Any others?
BTW, I have been told that the Purdue collapse simulation WAS continued after collapse initiation but that part was not released. I have been told it is out there somewhere....Anyone?
Note the location of the plane impact. Let's say the structure was weakened by fire and the impact. Watch until the upper part collapses down to the level of the plane impact, then pause the video. What have you seen so far? Smoke billowing, the antenna dropping. Fine. At this point, the damaged part has collapsed onto the good part of the building BELOW the plane impact. Remember, this part is not yet damaged. Now resume the video. Note the explosions, the debris hurtling outward. Why?
Straight down...ask any demolitions expert how hard it is to bring a building straight down. It takes months of careful planning. Extremely unlikely that a plane crash would even bring such a structure down, never mind perfectly straight down.

These buildings were brought down by nuclear demolition. That's the only way 5 inch thick steel girders and trusses could be turned into dust. Just watch the video and you'll see the plumes of smoke and dust falling in all directions in parabolic motion away from the building. That means there is an outward component of velocity in all directions from the center. Something has ejected matter outward. Something like a giant explosion erupting like a volcano. I think the only reason the towers collapsed is because the building was structured strongly enough. The frame was weak so therefore when the planes hit and the top half collapsed the rest of it couldn't hold on and it just gave way. If a plane hit the Empire State Building it would stand tall because it was built with expertise. That's what my grandfather told me anyway.

The plane cannot physically push that amount of air through the engines at sea level. They can go at at 500mph 30,00 feet up where the air is thinner but not at sea level where the air is thicker, its a total physical impossibillity, not that it puts any official explanation off.

The Twin Towers were built to withstand their weight SEVERAL times over, the impact of a fully loaded 707 (which would have done more damage to the building because of its speed at take off and landing), and the top of them only swayed THREE FEET in winds that sometimes reached the force of the hurricane (for 30 years). High-rise buildings (17 floors plus) are simply not built to collapse. No steel-framed H-R building has EVER collapsed due to fire.

Your think the fires caused the collapse? How about the impact of a plane moving at +500 mp/h laden with jet fuel? When jet fuel is compressed, it explodes rapidly. Sure it can't be hot enough to melt steel, but that's not even what happened. The superstructure of the building was weakened by the impact. It was finished off by the fires, and the top portion of the building collapsed into the lower section. Lol, get a life.

When the plane hit, it severely damaged and took out critical support columns, and the burning jet fuel heated the supports to their inevitable failure.
Because of that failure, the top portion crashed down, damaging the floors below, and as each floor became damaged and failed, the rest of the building failed and collapsed.

Let the video play until it just hits 0:12. Then pause it. You can see the tip of the WTC1 antenna sticking up out of the smoke cloud. Given where the tip of the antenna is, we know the damaged part of WTC1 has collapsed. Not entirely unexpected. Now look at the lower UNDAMAGED part of the building. Still solid, right? Now roll the video.
What happens to the undamaged part? It does NOT collapse as the upper part did. It EXPLODES. Why? The upper collapse was already over!

Is it valid to compare falling debris with TNT in terms of destructive potential?
At 0:12 into the video, the debris from the top floors had already hit the top undamaged floor.
Only AFTER the debris hit did the lower floors explode. Note that the lower floors did not collapse; they exploded.

I took the mass of the top floors and calculated the kinetic energy of it falling. I think I used 68,000 tons and 30 feet as the values (converting to kg and meters) to get an answer in joules, then found a site that had comparisons of joules and 'tons of tnt'.

My point: TNT is more destructive than gasoline because of its reaction velocity, usually expressed as 6000 meters/second.
Gasoline actually has MORE energy per mass than TNT but burns a million times more slowly.
Question: did the falling debris have the destructive potential of 5 tons of TNT or 5 tons of gasoline?

Umm.....sorry to be such a stickler for details but this is the NORTH Tower. The south tower did not have a TV antenna.
BTW, I believe planes hit both towers. I could understand the upper parts of the towers collapsing. I could understand the lower parts collapsing, but not exploding.
WATCH this video again: the lower part, below the plane impact, did NOT collapse. It EXPLODED.

Let me just say this: you can believe WHATEVER you want, and I can accept that.
But just always try to be open-minded, and try to consider ALL the evidence when you formulate your conclusions. My mind is made up on the fact that 9/11 was a terrorist attack, but in other events, I also *consider* the possibility that there is another side to the story.
But I'm careful not to do the opposite, and ONLY believe that I'm being lied to. Don't be a sheep in the opposite sense!

Good point. I try to collect alternative explanations, especially for WTC7. First possibility: very brittle columns that shattered like glass once overloaded. Second: vertical columns in a knee joint design such that once bent they collapsed with little resistance. Bazant and coauthors have a knee joint drawing in their tower paper. Perhaps the "knees" were locked by removable "pins" that could be "pulled" by cables. That design might explain Silverstein's "pull it" comment. Any others?

Note the location of the plane impact. Let's say the structure was weakened by fire and the impact. Watch until the upper part collapses down to the level of the plane impact, then pause the video. What have you seen so far? Smoke billowing, the antenna dropping. Fine. At this point, the damaged part has collapsed onto the good part of the building BELOW the plane impact. Remember, this part is not yet damaged. Now resume the video. Note the explosions, the debris hurtling outward. Why?

Straight down...ask any demolitions expert how hard it is to bring a building straight down. It takes months of careful planning. Extremely unlikely that a plane crash would even bring such a structure down, never mind perfectly straight down.
